Reviews for Hand-Me-Down Ranma -- A Good Fit? |
---|
![]() ![]() Great two chapters |
![]() ![]() ![]() Heh...So Akane was so protective of Nabiki that she didn't even "trust" Ranma carry Nabiki to the hospital, who is obviously more faster and skilled than her. That also shows Akane has ZERO faith in Ranma to carry her, obviously fearing he might do something perverted to Nabiki after she fainted. Pretty sure she would have let Ryoga carry her instead of Ranma. Shouldn't that show Ranma, where exactly he stands in her eyes? As a hardcore martial artist, he should be able to read emotions better. He can't be that gullible and dumb, can he? Anyway nice one on the double update... -Meech |
![]() ![]() ![]() I don't see this working out as Nabiki plans, it seems any plan that involves Ranma is not going to go as planned. Still, I want to see things work out for Nabiki, I liked her better than Akane. She is played for better or worse in different stories, but I want to see her do well with Ranma in this. |
![]() ![]() Wow what a cool story |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well...I've already seen the anime version and its clear that Nabiki will be having a talk with Kasumi and a certain someone overhearing that talk. I hope to see, at least some changes during that "talk". I guess Ranma wants a reaction from Akane and see if she fights or at least make an effort to get him back. Its too bad his taunts dont seem to work that well. The other fiancee's aren't a problem. Xian Pu's laws are too far fetched and she is too indoctrinated by her village. Shampoo does have feelings for him...Kodachi does not even have a claim. Ukyo truly did love Ranma, or at least felt so, it is shown in "manga" that she is willing to give up her business and even her lifestyle just for Ranma. Ukyo is not petty enough to strike a non-martial artist like Nabiki as she is a bit more level headed. She does have a claim on Ranma, thanks to Genma. -Meech |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hm. Well, I'm a little disappointed that you don't intend to veer further from the canon. I honestly have no idea how you are going to play the hedge maze, when Ranma knows Nabiki isn't lying about being in love with him. Or, maybe Nabiki will try to convince him of that? It seems to be contrary to her plans so far, although if she's trying to undo all that she's done I guess it can work. For those who may not be familiar with the canon version of the story, Ranma being wet and somewhat upset means he and Akane tried to apologize to each other. I was hoping to see how that dialog might have changed with Ranma's new perspective on Nabiki, but it apparently still ended the same. Interestingly, in the canon the action doesn't return to the fiancées (which is probably why that plotline was dropped from the anime) so we won't see that plotline resolved until after the canon ends and the new story takes off. I want to say that I'd like this to end with Nabiki giving it a chance, as long as Akane doesn't turn into a psycho. I guess we'll see how she reacts to Nabiki's little act. Will she think Nabiki's been lying, or will she stick to her (no longer as naïve) belief in her sister? |
![]() ![]() ![]() very nice this is one of the more realistic pacings for romantic development I've seen in fanfiction. especially ranma fics. thanks. |
![]() ![]() ![]() man this story getting better and better |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is an awesome fic! I can't wait to read more! |
![]() ![]() ![]() 1 again, they never killed akane (or each other) for ranma, what makes Nabiki special? especially cus she's clearly the most likely to let him go. 2 no questions on "If you love me why'd you try to sell me?" |
![]() ![]() ![]() 1 on the one hand the girls WILL attack, on the other, akane is still alive despite being weaker than all of them, so I don't think it will matter too much 2 akane and kuno deserve each other |
![]() ![]() ![]() the description of their mental states was spot on, but I have to wonder how Nabiki will survive the other girls now that she's not 'neutral' |
![]() ![]() ![]() please don't stop here. you have a very good flow going and its been ages since i read on of ranm and nabiki that i could seat down and read and want a lot more. good job so far say 4 out of 5 star |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well, it looks like Nabiki herself is realizing that her narration has been unreliable. I can accept Ranma's story about what happened with Akane, and what really happened. Still, it is almost like this story has a split personality. It says one thing, but does something else. Maybe you are limiting yourself too much to Nabiki's POV, or not foreshadowing her misperceptions. Hopefully it no longer matters, because now we seem to have left canon behind for good. So where do we go from here? Ranma seems to have decided that Nabiki deserves a chance, although what advantage he would have in that I don't know. Maybe he just wants to stop the fight between Nabiki and Akane. And Akane has already decided Nabiki is in love with Ranma, and to give her a chance as well. Of course, she may not be able to take having it shoved in her face, but Nabiki has no reason to shove it in her face if she doesn't want Akane to take Ranma back. I gather it will be awkward for a while, but maybe it's time to turn their attention back to the problem of the other fiancees. |
![]() ![]() ![]() He finally made a stand to get some answers... although it looks like Nabiki too, is simply confused on what she feels. Now, if only Ranma can get away from his fathers hold on him, he can finally decide for himself and stop being a total doormat for the others. He should be realizing by now, just how much longer will his life be decided by others!? and also is forever martial arts the only damn thing in his life! Ranma needs to get on with his educational matters serious, if he needs to keep up with Nabiki or her standards and not slack coz he was being too single minded on martial arts only. The only way their relationship would expand without annoyances, would be to move away from Nerima madness. Anyway ...this chap marks a turn from canon. -Meech |
