Marvelous! I haven't figured out who the messenger was, but she must know the future since she counseled patience. I'm glad she left him the memories or whatever they were!

His narration makes this sound, truly, like purgatory! Describing the song he hears from the Swan boy, I'm guessing it's a family trait, passed down to Bella, eventually.

Emmett provides the chains and post to bind him, and Esme carves the monolith that is his prison. Carlisle just mourns his first son. Pretty sad, but somehow just and proper.

I can't doubt his sincerity, but his brother has a point, too. Seems pretty complex, to me and I hope he finds an answer.

About half to two thirds of the way through, I began to suspect the truth! Loved the one-shot, but am eager to read the continuation!
