I am glad they spoke but Katniss should be sure she is staying with Peeta for the right reasons...she needs to let go of whatever Gale feels she has...or just be on her own and figure herself out before getting involved with anyone

If Peeta trusts Katniss at this point, then he's stupid. Because if Katniss spends any significant amount of time in Gale's company, alone, something that would hurt Peeta is bound to happen. And that's why she's so nervous being around Gale, not because of his connection to Prim's death.

Look at her reaction to Gale having a girlfriend. Or how she kissesd Gale after spending less than 24hrs around him. She's constantly thinking about Gale, comparing him with Peeta. She should be single, at least for now.

She's so annoying, too.

I feel if someone is finding it so hard to let go of one person in order to be with another, she doesn't love either of them.

Peeta should be a man and break up with Katniss. She should be single for now.

Katniss really needs to deal with all this pent up anger. I really had hoped that she would have been able to bring this whole Gale thing to a close in a way that was less emetionally problematic.

thought Katniss and Peeta were making natural/unforced progress towards "real" but i wished this Katniss dealt with whatever Gale-insecurities she is still having from the past & in the last chapter (53) versus ignoring him so she could have confronted him sooner. then this chapter makes me wonder why this Katniss is still so haunted by this Gale. i would like to see how this affects Everlark in the next chapter - for good or bad. thanks for the update. i love your story

This Katniss is too wishy - washy for my liking. If a sudden reappearance in her life by Gale can destabilise her so much, she shouldn't be with Peeta. She's so selfish that she would let Peeta she's fully committed to him, which is obviously not true, while having doubts about Gale. It's not like anyone has rushed her into anything. She just can't resist the temptation to eat her cake and have it.

Why can't Katniss stay single for a while, to help herself time to sort through every doubt that she has? But no, maybe she knows Peeta wouldn't wait for her forever. The one time she was alone with Gale she kissesd him. Now he's in town who knows how far it would go. She's so annoying, God!.

I really love this story. You have an undeniable skill with language, managing to match description with dialogue so neither feels heavy. The story is beautiful in its simplicity - without using ten words where one would do, you paint an evocative picture of Katniss and Peeta's lives. The shipper moments are both frequent and heart-wrenchingly real, and as much as I spent a large proportion of this story wishing Katniss would get her act together, I also appreciated your adherence to the reality of their personalities and attitudes. The character development is painful but necessary, and you make it pleasant to read. You don't fall into the trap of making your story trace massive highs and incredible lows, and thus having feelings change drastically from chapter to chapter. This is not a crash-and-burn story, it is a slow-burn shipper fic. Thank you.
