Good update. I couldn't believe that President Roslin had demanded to have a face to face meeting with the very busy President of the Republic in the last chapter. I at the time thought the Republic was only made out of a few worlds and a few growing colonies. The Republic must have to be pretty big to have a Ginii XO. OK. She was only trying to get the attention of the President to make sure he knew that there was a serious threat to the Republic. She wasn't expecting to get that meeting.

Two things to say. The chapter. I like. It's goign pretty smoothly.

Question: Besides the Whole inferior tech point. I'm more of a scientist at heart and I have to beg the question. If the more advanced technology was more efficient, easier to handle, easier to use and to give the depute of 'Pay more now and pay less in the long run' or 'pay less now and pay more in the long run' what would a civilization use?

I prefer the Pay more now option because in the long run, the economy and all financial troubles cease to become troubles. Everything get easier and there is less hassle in paperwork and the accountants. Everyone would have extra funding for everything else they wanted.

Not bad.

Well, the Colonials and Cylons of the fleet are definitely in for quite some surprise. They'll probably scratch their heads why they haven't seen the Tau'ri fleet close by when it suddenly appears :)
I see that the Republic is quite a melting pot. Hebridian, Genii... I mean I understand the former, but why the latter? Any other species we should know of? Oh, I don't know... Wraith for example? :P
But I agree with Adama that it's strange to see Tigh getting along with someone. I mean you haven't written much about Shar and Tigh, but alone to imagine it ;)
And the dinner on the Suffren with poor Captain Miyake will probably be interesting. Though of course I wonder whether Adama will be able to see a ship like the Suffron in action... :)

I already want to see the reaction when the colonials learns about the ages of the Earth people.

Wonderful chapter! I like how you brought in the Serrakins and the mentions of various other homeworlds for different officers. I'm looking forward to seeing how the fleet civilians handle the mix of people and tech sent to aid them. I hope you bring in some of the other species as well from SG1. I'm looking forward to learning more about the Republic.

A Ginii XO? Wow, humanity has come a long way hasn't it?

I know some people are going to board as there isn't any fighting or explosions or anything, but this is a breath of fresh air in the SG1/BSG cross over section because of the lack of such things, at lest for now.

With the colonists getting their first view of 'aliens' with yet one more hint that 'Earth' isn't what they think it should be its only a matter of time before someone does something stupid, but that really isn't going to happen until the civiy's get involved.

Nice play with what Roslin did and why. That was a good way to get it in front of the President when there was no way in heck she was going to get that face to face, but that she did it, and knew she did it, was beautiful. I had misjudged her, so thank you for that.

yees, an update!
this little story is very well written so far, so I can guess why updates are slow. Butanyways, I can't wait for the tension between the cylons and the humans to reach a peak :D
