![]() ![]() ![]() good chapter. roslin now know the truth about the lords of kobol and colonial survivors. and earth republic plan to save them (can't wit to see cyrannus survivors when they will see the hundred ships of Earth 4th fleet entering their system. And the relationship between republic people and differents colonial is fun. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Nice job on dealing with the personalities and the conflicts. Well done! |
![]() ![]() ![]() A solid update. Of course the rebel cylons and those at the colony wouldn't be the only ones left. And for that matter, it would make sense to have additional human survivors as well. My only thought would be if any of the rebel cylons would offer to return to the Cyrannus system as part of an effort to talk down their cylon brothers there. Of course its not guarantee that they would listen but certainly they'd be more favorabley disposed to other cylons than some human fleet that just shows up. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I don't recall the technology from the shows well enough to know whether you are correct, but you write technobabble very well. I really like the storyline concerning the people left behind. I am very curious to see what happens with the recovery, as well as the settlement of the cylons and the colonials on their own worlds. |
![]() ![]() excellent |
![]() ![]() Again, nice chapter. Moving along nicely. As for your argument about my review of the previous chapter: I never said that the Wraith armor is the best, but we have not seen any other useful armor in SG universe. And even you have to admit that the ZPM juiced up Hive ship had unbreakable armor (even plasma beams did nothing to it). All the other races, when their shields fell, either started taking heavy damage or died immediately. Never said that your ship (or any other) needed Petta watts power ( unless your want to get from one galaxy to another in only a couple of hours (like Asgard did), use a plasma super weapon (Anubis), power a city ship to full output (shields, star drive and everything else - it could even create a planet wide shield with 3 ZPMs, not a strong one, but still!), juice a Hive up to be OP (Wraith), deflect a solar flare with juiced shields (Earth), power a super gate (Ori), or dial the ninth chevron (Icarus base)). What I meant is this: Black holes and Vacuum power were said to be the most powerful in SG universe. Not saying there were not any others that were not discovered. But let's compare: Black hole destroys everything, a ZPM, if overloaded/damaged, creates a super-nova level of explosion. Granted, we don't know what an exploding Ion-Neutrino generator would do, but based on this, we can say that any Vacuum energy source is more powerful. The only advantage I see the Ion-Neutron generator having is this: It can be mass produced (cheaper to make) and can be refueled. ZPM can't be refueled unless you dump the same amount of power back into it, and that defeats the whole point of a power source. So I understand your explanation, but don't agree with it (unless you are saying that (like we have seen in other fan fiction stories) the ship has a micro-ZPM (much smaller, with less power output than the standard one, but cheaper to make). Would make more sense, since even in the future SG story line, ZPMs are probably valuable, and with thousands of ships, you won't have the standard ZPMs for all. The whole sub light speed is not that important. let's just say that if an Earth ship puts most of its power it can reach the 0.6 c or whatever in a short amount of time. But over longer distances a small hyper jump is better (since we have only seen one time any ship go really fast in sub light speed in SG universe. The Ancient Aurora class, that had a ZPM for it and reached 99% of light speed). Refitting the Galactica?! Umm really? First of all, in SG the Prometheus was not produced anymore, once more advanced tech was acquired. Instead of upgrading an obsolete design, a new one was made (bc-304). The Galactica was obsolete by Colonial standards, let alone by SG standards! Building a new ship from scratch would be easier. Just repair her, let the fleet take her in tow into hyperspace and release her once in Cyranuss. And the other thing: Earth just met the Colonials. Giving them access to advanced (not saying the most advanced) tech is stupid. No civilization would do/does/will do that. Control first, trust later. Unless Earth in this story is really gullible/stupid. Earth should act a bit like Tollans here, if you ask me. Not in the helping part, but the sharing tech part. Still a really good story. Keep it up! |
![]() ![]() On your rant about the armor: When Thor debuted the O'Neill to Carter he specifically said that it had a hull made out of a Trinium/Naquadah/Carbon alloy and was the absolute hardest metal they had made. So your point is actually CANONICAL to the show. If anybody else gives you grief about this, point them to the show. |
![]() ![]() Response to ferduran Some of the colonial worlds will be too close to each other for a stargate on each world. |
![]() ![]() [ Insert positive review here ] :) |
![]() ![]() Good chapter, dealing with the emotions of everyone at the revelation of more survivors |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh, the Tau'ri made peace with the Goa'uld? Well, there could have been a worse outcome. :) I'm looking forward to see the Earth fleet going to the Cyrannus system. Please tell me there'll be a city ship and the Colonials will see it in action? Maybe as the medical ship? (Considering we'd be talking about a city ship it would probably still kick some stubborn Cylon asses) Though the Colonials would probably be surprised by anything the Tau'ri can throw around. :P Ha! I had hoped that Adama would beam back just after Tigh had arrived. :D |
![]() ![]() ![]() Ohhh fire works are being preped.. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Just a thought, some of your readers may not even know what the actual speed of light is. I don't know the exact numbers, I've just generally went by the established norm of 186,000 miles per second. So .5 would be 93,000 miles per second. Just a reference for the uninformed readers. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Good chap, but I have some problems 1 you should change the "Tau'ri Republic" to "Confederacy" because thats what they are from your descriptions 2While not a problem in-story I find the fact that they did't crush the Goauld stupid, if they didn't want the collateral damage from ocupping the planets they should (and in real life a first world military like the US armed forces would) have bombed all of the war making industries (shipyards, arms factories, etc) take their stargate and leave them trapped in their planets |
![]() ![]() ![]() Super. I just wish that earth will talk it out with Cylons. |
