What a great story! I couldn’t stop reading until I collapsed with exhaustion at 5am, then picked it straight back up when I woke. I’m sorry that you seemed to have so many rude reviewers when you were originally posting. This is exactly the kind of P&P au I like. I love tearing these characters out of their overly polite society and letting them really do and feel things. You built so much depth into the story, it was so enjoyable seeing all the different threads come together. I’m gay, but the Darcy-Lizzy interactions had my heart swooping. Well done!

That. Was the peeeerfect conclusion to this story you wrote about the Colonel and Charlotte. The flush of happiness and passion, the regret and tested integrity and steadfastness, the long loooong years of trial and separation, and the final success! I was hoping that their conclusion would be something like this — Collins dying after a period of time long enough not to be convenient, and their coming together then. But I had little hope for Richard remaining single through the years. It seems that you have thoroughly and convincingly achieved it!
Also, I adored the touch of injured Darcy. After escaping such dangerous adventures unscathed, it seems only right that pure and commonplace accident would do him in like that. Cynthia from Hyacinth?

I thank you for this work! No matter what the critics (who, honestly, I CANNOT understand, because what about Darcy here is OOC? What on earth are these so-called blatant failings supposed to be?) say, this story you made would not have been nearly so good without the journeys and character arcs of Col & Charlotte, Lady Catherine, Lord Smythe, wifey, & Reg, the Tanners, and all the delightful characters you created. It’s not your fault that the fanfiction audience is not quite so discerning, and is generally here for the quick and sweet and often mindless gratification of indulgence in the ODC. You are truly an excellent author with a wonderful grasp of characters, and I wish to read more from you. I am learning so much! I salute you for standing firm to your plot in the face of intimidating opposition. You have arisen the victor!

Okay i just gotta pause in my binge reading and say that you handle ALL the characters SO WELL. The motivations, the principles, the development and revelations of hidden depths... You are truly an excellent creator.

I will not have you doubt Fitzwilliam’s story! It is sooo engaging, so fascinating, every word worth it. I used to shut down all notion of Col./Charlotte, but this...! Would it be too uncouth to wish for Mr. Collins to kick the bucket? Probably. No, I don’t want things to be so easy for them as that. I hope Col. and Charlotte continue to be the deepest of friends, even if there is always that lingering regret that they can never be more.

I can't remember if I've left a review for this story before, but just wanted to say - I LOVE Darcy's speech about Lizzy not being pretty. I have come back to this chapter time and again just to re-read it!
