moodyval chapter 17 . 6/10/2022 I just finished reading this story for the second time. I read it years ago when you first wrote it. I hope you finally got full credit on Amazon for this story or had it removed. I would love to read a chapter about Charlotte and General Fitzwilliam’s marriage. Thank you for writing! |
maembe13 chapter 16 . 5/25/2022 how on earth did you take such an outlandish premise and make it totally believable? i am still in awe at how brilliant this is! there were so many memorable, profound characters, unforgettable locations, and plot twists! I absolutely loved your exploration of Mrs. Collins and her struggles with her life choices. you did not whitewash it but still made her an admirable character who made difficult decisions and lived with them You showed her sense and her positive traits instead of defining her by her pragmatism. the contrast of women forced to compromise their ideals for their life circumstances-and the struggles those caused- were quite profound. also, the irony of the man whose father lost everything to gambling now repeating the cycle is as tragic as his broken manor house (and broken relationships) this was so great. i will definitely reread it over and over! |
Daarcybeth chapter 16 . 4/7/2022 I read this story years ago during the early stages of my P&P obsession. Needless to say, this story along with a handful of others stuck in my memory. I remember falling in love with it to the point where I couldn’t stop reading. This second time reading it through, the feeling was the same. I absolutely adore this story! I was surprised to see your author’s notes stating that some people thought the characters weren’t true to the book. I wholeheartedly disagree. I was actually shocked by how in-character they were. Elizabeth, the Colonel, Mr. Bingley and Mr. Collins in particular were spot on! I also enjoyed the addition of Geoff Talmadge. His character slightly reminds me of Julian Paisley from another P&P fanfiction (a trilogy): To Save and Protect, and the sequel To Love and Cherish. This story was done marvelously, and it had me hooked. You are a wonderful author, and I hope you continue to write many good stories. I wish you well in your endeavors! |
zaubernuss chapter 16 . 3/25/2022 First of all let me tell you how immensely I enjoyed reading your stories! I first skipped this after reading the summary, as indeed, it sounded a lot like it was about P&P and pirates (knowing nothing of real piracy going on an a certain lady-warriers website). I read Havenmount (sorry - I can't remember the exact title, I don't want to go back and check right now, I'd have to start over) and was totally enthralled by your writing style! You might not be Jane, but you manage to actually sound like her, a feat that by itself is amazing! Added to that, I love that your stories do NOT use a plotline that is built on misunderstandings, because I also dislike this so much! It makes me irritated and frustrated, which doesn't make for an enjoyable reading time. This story was highly entertaining, not too angsty and it had great characters. I already loved your Darcy in the other story, but her, Elisabeth shone brightly as well, as did Fitzwilliam and Charlotte. But most of all, I admired the wit in the dialogue. The last chapter alone was outstanding - making a proposal with war metaphors! Elisabeth's and Darcy's banter was intelligent and funny throughout the story - more so than I have ever read in any other P&P fic. I dare say it was more witty than the original (which I have never read in full, but I can't believe they would have withheld many such scenes in the movie adaptions). Thank you so much for writing and sharing you stories - this is a jewel! I haven't even checked how recent this work is, but whatever you did or hopefully still do: Keep writing! |
Stine chapter 17 . 2/21/2022 Tank you |
2lulu2 chapter 17 . 2/20/2022 Oh I’m so sorry for the piracy! This story was amazing. You’re a talented author and brought joy to my life in an overwhelming time recently. I loved your story. |
tanseynz chapter 17 . 2/7/2022 As much as I genuinely enjoyed the main plot and characters, aka Darcy, Lizzie and the kidnapping, it was the Colonel and Charlotte that sparkled for me. I’m so glad you gave them a happy ending, and with respect to Collins as a loving father. |
HayDay chapter 16 . 2/4/2022 What an enjoyable story! Thank you so much for giving Charlotte and Richard their very own HEA! |
sunshineisdelicious chapter 16 . 1/13/2022 Had to reread this again ️ |
MK543 chapter 1 . 12/8/2021 Ooh, Victorian debt collectors, how novel. The game is afoot! xo |
k chapter 16 . 12/1/2021 If you are still out there and read these, I just have to tell you again that this story is so thoroughly enjoyable! You are very talented and definitely one of the finest writers of pp ff, of understanding and adding to the beloved characters, that has ever attempted it. And, I just want to specifically thank you for the delightful, beautiful, surprise that is this epilogue. Truly, it is an absolute treasured pleasure to reread just this on its own though the build up throughout the story makes the plausibility and desirability of these two not often developed characters coming together solid, sensual and joyful. I can't stop grinning for them and your ability to bring that to us. Thanks, what a great story to rediscover during pandemic blues. |
dontcallmemrs chapter 17 . 11/23/2021 Gorgeously written! |
Barton81 chapter 8 . 11/20/2021 The subplot between Charlotte and the Colonel is so engaging. You have created two very likeable characters! Could tedious Mr. Collins manage to trip over a garden rake and do himself in? Leave our loyal and clever duo free to sail off in romantic harmony. I can't bear to think of Charlotte shackled forever to the Parson. |
Myletunelieues chapter 17 . 10/7/2021 I am so sorry about that Babsy. I think this is my favourite variation of P&P and I am so grateful to have read your work here. Your update was a long time ago so I guess it might not have worked out... I still hope that you managed to get your story back, and Amazon to publish it. Thank you so much for writing this story and sharing your work with us/me. |
Guest chapter 16 . 9/5/2021 I loved this story! Adventure, intrigue, romance, our favorite Austen characters made even more interesting and entertaining. Perfect! Thank you! |
