Reviews for The Greatest Bounty |
---|
![]() ![]() ![]() I just binged through all seven chapters so far. Holy crap, man, this story is fantastic. My favorite Star Wars character of all time, plus one of my favorite anime of all time? Outstanding combination. Love the writing style. Great story progression. You're doing a fantastic job displaying Boba's character (he does seem to talk a lot more than in the books. But it has been a while since I read any with him, so I could be wrong). I am bummed though. It's been three months since this story last had an update. I really hope you're still going to continue it. Keep up the good work. |
![]() ![]() ![]() when can you get back to this story (the greatest bounty)? |
![]() ![]() It's really good! I hope you will not abandon this story and will continue shortly! Don't give up !:) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well damn. Boba only has so much ammo so that sucks. On the bright side he has a light sabre. Though I thought it was canon that he always carried one with him incase he needed it. Especially considering how versatile they are. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Man I can't stop reading this. I'm not even a really big Star Wars fan, period. But this, I just could not stop. It's elegantly crafted and to a new-comer to the whole Boba Fett lore, it was done well enough that I was able to understand Fett's character. And when I look him up in the EU and such, I can actually relate the now non-canon and canon Fett to this one. Brilliant job writing him. And the battles? Simply fantastic and an interesting read. You spared the readers a boring cut and dry fight scene on multiple occasions, where in other stories (both fan fic and published book) they're drawn out by needless details. Again, I have to applaud this as it is simply something that I personally really enjoy. Now I'm not sure just how accurate this Fett is, but all in all it looks like you have genuinely written this character. As for the GATE Characters, it's very refreshing to see Fett's take on them as well as him calling out the various actions Itami did that alot of watchers found unreasonable. I shared, somewhat, his opinion when I first saw Rory, and reading his cautiousness around the entire cast and knowing he has contingencies? That's badass. I especially like how the JSDF isn't represented as the god-tier super faction they are in the show and other fics, that they recognize the superiority of another force which is clearly stronger. Not only that, but Boba utilizes his strengths to a logical advantage. He isn't a Gary Sue which is infallible, and the way you're going with the character's actions really shows a strength in the writing. One thing I have to throw in, of course, is that when you mentioned him retrofitting the JSDF tech and weaponry, the first thing I thought of was that AR500 gear that was recently made in a Mandalorian style. Could totally see Fett rocking out with retrofitted tactical gear attached to his Mandalorian armor, maybe some rails for some of our newer helpful attachments? I'm sure even Fett could appreciated an arm mounted Crye SIX-12. Anyways, just had to post this because I honestly never thought I'd be as much into a Star Wars story as I was this one. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Finally shits going down! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Shame the Dragon did not die! But the Hunt will be fun! So I am counting on it! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well this is very interesting! Great chapter by the way! I hope Boba and Lelei will become great friends! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Action, check. Using the Expanded Universe, check. Awesome fight scenes, double check. Now then. First off, Boba Fett is my favorite. Out of all the cannon characters Fett is the best. He has a human side that gets turned on and off when needed, and is brought to the surface at unexpected points. It startles anyone who sees it the first time. And it helps move the plot of your story along, had he not cared at all it is unlikely he would have gotten his new job or made any allies. And the way Rory is fawning over him is greatly amusing. Their personalities are immensely different. His and her relationship are the comedic glue that holds the story together at certain points. The EU is a massive resource to draw on, so only a few writers are willing to delve into it. And yet you’re using it to fuel the story, which is awesome. There are so many possible items and plot twists you can make by using it. So that makes me happy to see. Also I can’t help but notice the characters are vastly different between your two Gate stories, thats hard to do. People change and react differently based on life experiences, so the fact that Itamti and the others are different in each story is great to see. On the action side you seem to really have slowed down and made sure every flows perfectly. At least it looks that way. The fights are amazingly well written and don’t get caught up on meaningless details. It’s fun to read and paints a clear picture in my head of whats going on. You’ve managed to accomplish a lot in just a few chapters. I honestly wouldn’t have minded if this was the first story you uploaded. It has plenty of character development and lots of action. The universe feels alive and colorful, I can hardly wait to see you update as is, but now I have something else to look forward to. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I binge-read this story in a day, and I have to say, I'm very impressed; one of the best GATE crossovers I've read if I'm being perfectly honest with you. From the botched job on Tatooine, to first arriving in the "Special Region", his fight with the Fire Dragon, and what happened in Italica, I knew it was going to be one hell of a ride, and boy was I right. His interpersonal relationships with Lelei has been one of the most-satisfying to read, and I'm curious to see just how far Rory will take things with Boba before he responds "in kind". That they're learning about real-life aliens would definitely be humbling, and bring things into perspective. Boba being hired on as an "independent contractor" of sorts because of his "disassociation" to the SDF will definitely be a powerful tool in the future. I'm especially looking forward to his business sense, and awed at how he DIDN'T immediately take advantage of his technological advantage in the pursuit of profit; if too-great a tech cache were to be dropped in their laps, if their culture weren't ready for it, Earth could very well turn into another Tuchanka (Mass Effect). All in all, this story's a 9.5 out of 10 in terms of both quality and quantity for each chapter which was all just right, and I'm eagerly looking forward to how Boba will influence the future arcs in this wicked-awesome crossover. P.S. The bit about him setting the Slave-1 to autopilot and simply drifting among the stars... THAT is the kind of end, a GOOD ending, that Boba Fett deserves after all he's seen, done, or HAD done to him. It'd definitely be one hell of a coffin, and if the ship's interior was largely-sterile, there wouldn't even be much decay to the body. Then again, I'm probably rambling. More than anything, I'm looking forward to seeing if Boba WILL start a family, continue the legacy. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This Story is Incredible. The Characters, the Interactions, the Reactions and Combat along with the changes made by Boba Fett, it's all very Fenominal! This Concept of this "alternate" Fett is very intriguing to say the least. Character is spot on to a buisness man but with the spirit/soul of an honorable warrior. Honestly I don't know much about Boba fett, but over times I've seen him, he immediately became one of my favorite characters of all time. His Character design, personality, combat style, weapons of choice, and overall character in general. I'm also very interested into seeing what else would be in store for Boba. And the idea of him possibly having a new start has definatly caught my attention. For the tease of him *possibly* finding someone he may find fancy, has already gotten me curious as well. Would it be someone from the world he's in now like another warrior from seperated kingdoms/clan's and the like? Someone from the JSDF like Shino or Kurokawa? Maybe, who Knows! The parts of where Boba became the ideal change on some parts of the regular canon was really something. The way it was presented and yet it still held Boba Fett's character along with everyone else. Overall of the story right now...Fantastic! I look forward *and hoping* into seeing another chapter of this Story Writer! Keep up the good work! Peace! |

![]() ![]() ![]() Boba Fett. Bad Ass. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow, so the JSDF is here too then? Well i hope they can handle what most woman can't, the Fett. Listening to the SW soundtrack as i read this, it adds alot to it, IF you listen to the right track. Still reading. Still Loving. |
