Been rereading this and wanted to comment. This isn't intended as a complaint about the story. I think that Carol was really stretching in her comparison between Taylor and Marqius. I think Carol was unhappy that her kids were showing a backbone, and she blamed Taylor. Any imagined resemblances to Marquis are an excuse IMO. Not that this is OOC or anything. Makes sense just fine in the story. Just wanted to complain about Carol a bit I guess.

That should have been in canon Worm. Something as simple as "Oh, you want the setting to be fixed by just PtVing less villains and more heroes? Then you get a Nice Job Breaking It Hero ending."

That alone would have made it a more proper grimdark.
