![]() ![]() Why not hire Cad Bane to kill someone from Tarkin's entourage or Tarkin himself. |
![]() ![]() so do the inhibitor chips exist in this universe? |
![]() ![]() This story is un-traditional, but it has very entertaining and successful parallels. You have un-wittingly written in the style of a Shonen manga, sure you have flawed story building aspects, but as you say, flaws make a more interesting character. Reading the slow evolution of a character that grows as you as a writer grows is something I have no wish to see end. Keep at it! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I have to agree with Tuom, in war/conflict it’s better to die standing than on your knees. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Imagine the reaction of the confederate troops going into the tent just to see a Jedi knight/padawan with a broken leg staring crossly at the wall. |
![]() ![]() ![]() It's late for a review, but it is a good chapter. |
![]() ![]() Communism is the ratio of 10 tons pil production to 1 ton iron production. What is the current fuel/iron production ratio of the CSA in your timeline timewatch? |
![]() ![]() ![]() As disappointed as I am for this story to end in a decade or so Im excited for your original sci fi work. I will buy day one. |
![]() ![]() On the one hand I would say this is my favorite fanfic to read but on the other I can see you hate it and want to move on. If I had my way I would keep on reading this fanfic forever, I love it. In the end you are the author and have more plans of your own, I respect that and will accept it. When the time comes and this story is finished I’ll be sad for it to have ended. But until you feel that time is here I will enjoy this for as long you keep writing. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Lovely so far. Cannot wait to see where this is going. I've devoured 550k (roughly) words over the last 2 days and wish I was a time God ao I could read the rest right now. Great job, keep it up! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I do not feel the characters bloat at all. Fantastic chapter as usual. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Heya! I've been following this story for a while and, due to your author note, I thought I should give my thoughts. I love this story to bits. Generally speaking, when I follow a long fic that takes a while to update, I ignore the latest update until I've got a large backlog and then I read all the new chapters over a couple of days; yours is the only fic where I will reread the entire story almost every time there's a new update (and often when there hasn't been) simply because I enjoy it so much! I know you mentioned that you think there's too many characters and that it feels bloated, but I haven't once felt that. The main characters are flawed enough to be believable, while the ones that aren't necessarily likeable, are easily understandable in their motives and actions. You also have some of the most strangely likeable secondary and background characters, Director Orlok actually being my favourite out of them. It's a shame that you no longer enjoy star wars, but at the same time it's completely understandable. the franchise has been butchered beyond recognition. If you find that you need a break, or even that you want to abandon the story entirely because you no longer enjoy it, then I think everyone would understand completely. Ultimately this is meant to be a hobby, and if it's not fun, then you shouldn't have to continue. I don't think you should be so hard on your writing abilities though, this is leagues better than most people could write, and it's kept me coming back ever since I first found it nearly 3 years ago. Wherever the story goes, or if it stops completely, I'm here for it and wish you the best of luck. - Candlewick |
![]() ![]() ![]() I was just looking at the last update on this the other day and thinking "uh oh, didn't Timewatch say it would be a month, and we're well over it", so I was more than pleased to see the update. As usual, I was not disappointed. It was good to see that we jumped straight into it with the strategy meetings. I'm not joking when I say those are some of my favorite parts (if not my favorite, period), just the generals analyzing the situation and trying to come up with ideas to achieve victory. I've missed it these past couple chapters. I've also missed Khan. Esera may hate that droid, but I certainly don't. He's such an interesting and well-done character, and I really enjoy every scene he's in. Here's hoping he shows up again soon! Back to the chapter, I really liked how this one felt. Not too much action (except for Esera beating up those spies, of course), but I can definitely feel the build up like in the chapters before Operation Striking Star. It seems like something big is coming, whether with the seed of with Grievous's plans (or both at the same time) and I can't wait to see it all goes down. I find it hilarious that Shaak Ti is now a doomsday prepper, but I have a feeling her time spent on it will prove worthwhile. If Tarkin knows about Order 66, I have a feeling it's only a matter of time before he has it executed. That is, unless the seed get's 'em all first. I have a suspicion that something like that will not just bend to the Supreme Chancellor's will... And a final note: while you may not look too fondly on some of your writing styles and practices, I must commend you on this story you have written. Your characters come to life in a way that Disney has never been able to manage in their time with Star Wars, with moments that make them feel real, likeable, and cause readers like me to connect with them and care about them. Is everything perfect across the whole story? Probably not (although your plot holes are smaller than TLJ's). But this is an amazing story you have written, from the plot to the characters to all the little details; if this story is unsalvageable, then it is only because it is not a wreck that needs salvaged. You have done good work here, Timewatch. Remember that. |
![]() ![]() ![]() First of all, thanks for the quick review of Grievous' main generals at the beginning. Some like Ricimor Emmon appear often enough to keep them in mid, but others aren't as easy to remember. So, we finally get to know what the "Seed" does: if I understand it correctly, it drains the life essence of living (or sentient?) beings and releases it in the form of a destructive force with enough power to rival the Death Star superlaser. So like a Death Star that it's powered by genocide. Man, the Rakatans could make Palpatine feel uncomfortable with their sheer depravity. Also, I liked the small detail of people in the present age believeing the Rakata and the Infinite Empire were just a myth, given that their empire collapsed more than twenty thousand years ago and their race had been confined to a single, hard to find planet ever since, until they went extinct sometime before the New Sith Wars. It helps give you a sense of scale of the timeline. Kenobi and Ventress always had great chemistry, and it hadn't dulled one bit now that they're allies, even if only to fight against a common enemy. I hope we get to see more scenes with them together. Wow, Shaak Ti knows that the ship is about to sink soon, isn't she? Your author's note was worrying, given that you mentioned your lack of interest in SW (I saw other SW fanfics cancelled by their authors for this very reason) and calling this story "unsalvageable", yet you posted a new chapter. So I take that, even if you plan to continue this story, you're going to wrap it up as soon as possible? |
![]() ![]() ![]() I've been loving this story and it's OC's so much it's unreal! This is probs my favourite Star Wars fanfic. I wish there were more badass Greivous moments, but I can tell that this isn't his story and it isn't really necessary to the plot. I'll be looking forward to the next chapter! |
