Reviews for A Single Decision (Take Two)
beltrik chapter 49 . 3/30/2022
lmao the mandalorians. almost as ludicrous as real afghan politics. as a poli sci student i love the way you weave these real world influences into the story, its beautiful, well done, masterful. i honestly think this story has made me a better writer, just by rereading and analyzing how you integrate concepts into it.
BearGlitch chapter 28 . 3/26/2022
Only just barely past half-way reading this but I have to say with no hint of irony that this is one of the best fanfictions and piece of Star Wars media I have enjoyed in a long while, especially for the latter. It is such a refreshing feeling to not only enjoy good writing but characters, both original and canon, that you can attached too and want to see their journeys.

I have no idea what the status is of this story's progress by Chapter 49 but no matter what whether it's this story or another I wish you the best of luck in your writing endeavors, as it is clear you have an amazing talent for this.

I hate to sound bitter but I wish Disney had you write their latest Star Wars novels instead of the people they got.
Valdovas Dievas chapter 49 . 3/25/2022
The Confederacy of Independent Systems needs more music, and this song just fit too well when I heard the real version.

We are a band of brothers and native to these stars
Fighting for our liberty, with all our force of arms
And when our rights were threatened, the cry rose near and far
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the hexagon!
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For systems’ rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the hexagon.

As long as the Republic was faithful to her trust
Like friends and like brethren, kind we were, and just
But now, when coreward treachery attempts our rights to mar
We hoist on high the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the hexagon.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For systems’ rights, hurrah!

Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the hexagon.

First gallant, old Serenno nobly made the stand
Then came Geonosis and took her by the hand

Next, quickly Minntooine, Yag’Dhul, and Agamar
All raised on high the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the hexagon.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For systems’ rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the hexagon.

Now here’s to brave Raxus, that grand and princely State,
With the young Confederacy at length has linked her fate,
Impelled by her example, now others have begun
To hoist on high the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the hexagon.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For systems’ rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the hexagon

Then cheer, boys, cheer, and raise a joyous shout
For Skako and Cato Nemoidia now have both gone out,
And let another rousing cheer for Sluis Van be given,
From each and every free system may tyranny be driven.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For systems’ rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the hexagon.

Then here’s to our Confederacy, strong we are and brave,
Like patriots of old we’ll fight, our heritage to save;
And rather than submit to shame, to die we would prefer,
So cheer, cheer for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the hexagon.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For systems’ rights, hurrah!

Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the hexagon.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For systems’ rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears the hexagon.
Inoeth chapter 49 . 3/22/2022
Hell of a chapter. A lot of character building and growth and development here...

I'm looking forward to seeing the discussion between Sanya and Esera. I'm hoping Esera doesn't end up pulling an Anakin and becoming the thing she hated most and bringing the galaxy down... I'm very curious about getting back to Couresant with regards to Yodda, Obi Wan and the schism. I'm truly expecting some eventual fight between the two orders and the original order to leave the Republic.

Things are properly set up for a shitshow of a meeting next chapter with the betrayal and all.

I'm very much looking forward to it all and am hoping it's less than a month's wait.
LionLordEscanor chapter 49 . 3/22/2022
Sanya seems like an annoying bitch. Thought that when she was first introduced and I still think that. Also the other chapter was kind of amusing that Rex could see anakins faults but Ahsoka couldn’t but it also makes a lot of sense for Ahsoka. Overall this is a good story. Good for you for keeping it updated this long.

Doesn’t the Jedi council have elections?
Guest chapter 49 . 3/20/2022
Nice chapter. I like esera having to fight the influence of the darkside every now and them, since she isn't really in jedi mode constantly of course the darkside would get in her head more often. Yeah, the points that esera makes about respect are pretty valid in my opinion and her scarying the shit out of the pirate was really fun to read, i guess she will not be very happy with the pirate queen when she get to know about the betrayal...
ErrorPleaseReload chapter 49 . 3/19/2022
Oh boy, oh boy, here we are again. I've only now realized that I have now followed or favourited this story or its author in the years - YEARS - that I've been reading it. A mistake now rectified, so we can go on to the review proper.

A Single Decision is the only story in all of those that I consistently read that I drop everything to get to the newest chapter. I love "A New Player in the Force" and its sequel, I am enraptured by stories like "The Power of Love", and "Conjoining of Paragons", and I (synonym for love here) "Roboutian Heresy", but none of them spawns the same excitement I feel when I see that "A Single Decision" update on my phone when I'm at work or in classes or driving 80 mph down the highway.

This chapter was no different.

Once again, Timewatch hits it out of the park with their OCs. Most of the time, I despise OCs that become major aspects of the plot, as they are more often than not the Author's idealized versions of either themselves or another character archetype. Timewatch has not fallen for this trap, at least as far as I can see. When I first found this story all the way back in 2017-2018 (Lord above, has it been so long?) I disliked the chapter centred around Esera. "Why is she so weak?" I asked myself "Why is she so annoying?" I pondered "Why does she fail at everything she does?" You get the point. As this story progressed and I grew as both a reader and writer, I came to realize the error in my thinking. It was mentioned in an earlier chapter, but Esera is a reflection of early Ahsoka back in the dark ages of Filoni's show. Ahsoka made mistakes, but she was never allowed to fail like Esera was. Both are immature, young, and inexperienced, but Esera is forced to witness her failures and develop because of them. In short, Esera feels human while Ahsoka - as much as I like her - was too good to make her relatable.

The rest of the OCs are all amazing as well. Timewatch has managed to blend canon, legends, and their own lore so seamlessly that I often have to look up characters, events, or places just to see if they existed before hand. Often, fanfic writers will just regurgitate Wookiepedia articles while remixing them to showcase a "deep understanding" of the lore and setting. I, myself, am guilty of such, but it is refreshing to see it in action in this fic. It encourages my own creativity when I write, as it is easy to fall into the trap of spewing lore rather than adapting it to my story. Perhaps my only complaint regarding the OCs, especially with Esera's crew, is that the old guard feel like they are getting less screentime. Voyan is the standout example, though perhaps my perception is jsut being messed with due to recently reading this chapter. Murshida gets a pass mostly because he has a very specific niche to fill in the story. Other come and go as per their importance, so maybe I'm just crying in the rain.

I won't touch on the plot for the sake of avoiding spoilers for those poor fools who read the reviews before the story - IN WHICH CASE, THIS SEGMENT IS DIRECTED AT YOU INGRATES: READ THE STORY FIRST BEFORE THE REVIEWS! Are you TRYING to spoil it for yourselves - but I find myself at the edge of my seat every single time. The cliffhangers are no doubt strange for people who are able to read the chapters consecutively, but for those of us on the frontlines waiting for updates, it keeps us interested.

Anyway, good work as always, Timewatch. I wait for the next chapter with bated breath. In the meantime, I shall reread it cover-to... midsection, I suppose? No second cover yet, the story ain't done, yeah? Mind any spelling errors, I'm a "stream of consciousness" kind of person when I'm writing.
Khans plan chapter 25 . 3/19/2022
Yo conspiracy theory time. Was rereading striking star and the khan scene with kronaak made me think something weird. Would it be organic of me to say. So that made me think.

Kahn calculates that if the confederacy wins he’ll prob be decommissioned as he’s fucking scary. So he decides to make purity and have her go with komera. The reason is because he knows that komera is grievous favorite, but at the same time she is a much more morally and ethically ‘good’ then the general, and is much more palatable to ur average joe.

Purity learns and makes her own way with Komera, then Khan puts himself inside her head and merges to gain freedom and sentience while also molding a personality that holds his Ruthless pragmatism while at the same time has the good morals from purity.

Boom theory complete
