rebecca-in-blue chapter 9 . 11/3/2018 The way you depict Hux and Ren in this story continues to be so damn on-point. I really love the theme in this chapter of Hux thinking of him as "a child, an absolute child." I also love the little parallels you create to the original trilogy, with Hux dismissing Ren's intuition as "magic tricks." It reminds me of Darth Vader's "I find your lack of faith disturbing" scene, although obviously Ren doesn't have Vader's degree of control. It's kinda that he's so easy for Hux to manipulate here, and he doesn't even realize it. I'm left pretty curious about how he makes himself so scarce in the second half of this chapter - I wonder what he's up to? |
Mikaela II chapter 17 . 1/22/2018 3 I have thoroughly enjoyed the story thus far, and do hope that you have plans to continue it in the future. Excellent work :) |
Ethereal Sphere chapter 17 . 1/21/2018 Hmm, not bad. I really like the General Hux you have created. Ren also has his moments, of course. Hope you update this soon! |
Lamia of the Dark chapter 3 . 8/18/2017 It's been a while since I last read this, but it looks like this chapter is where I left off... So, Ren is avoiding Hux because he destroyed a row of control panels? Was it an accident, or was he having a temper tantrum? XD He demanded an entire hangar all to himself? This guy sounds like a spoiled brat. He gets to run around ignoring protocol and getting whatever he wants, and it sounds like there's nothing Hux is actually allowed to do about it... You go, Hux, you learn about the Sith, yeah, that'll help you... maybe. idek. Oh no, not a waste of stormtroopers, anything but that! I have a feeling that I might actually understand what battle is being referred to here, if I'd seen the new movies. (Which I still haven't watched yet.) Ooh, he's tricky with that line about his top tactician revising the thing, and not telling the dude that he was the one who did it. XD Sudden force-choke from Ren! :o wait, they weren't even in the same room, he did that to a dude who was on a DIFFERENT SHIP. O_O IRIS I HOPE YOU ENJOYED MY DUMB COMMENTS. |
rebecca-in-blue chapter 8 . 7/27/2017 This continues to be such an well-done, slow-burning story. I really like the opening scene of Hux inspecting the damaged worksite; again, it's a good move to have him interacting with characters other than Ren, and the more ordinary, day's-work feeling that of scene contrasts well with him and Ren in his office. I love his surprised but (as always) very controlled reaction to Ren's behavior. Ren provoking him into snapping and Hux's discomfort with taking off his suit in front of him are such good bits, and I love the comic relief in "Should I call for a straw for you to drink through?" (XD!) and his observations of Ren's ears. And Ren's grin at the end - I get the impression that he's trying to get Hux to lower his guard, but that's a pretty tall order. |
kat chapter 17 . 6/10/2017 i hope you decide to update this i really like this fic. |
rebecca-in-blue chapter 7 . 9/17/2016 Wow, the scene of Ren Force-choking Hux was really well-done and intense. The way the drama builds there is just perfect - Ren's unexpected attack (unlike Hux, I didn't see it coming), Hux's determination to not show fear, Ren reading his mind, finally releasing him, and that moment when he raises his hand before he leaves (nice way to keep the suspense up all the way through the scene). I also love the line of Hux admiring Ren's abilities in the Force while scoffing at the "shame" that he doesn't have the discipline to develop them further - so in-character for him. This scene leaves me wishing that I could see part of this story from Ren's POV. Hux's impressed reactions to Phasma and her Stormtroopers is well-written, and although Phasma doesn't interest very much as a character, it was interesting to see Hux in a less formal setting in the scene of them in his quarters. It also keeps him a well-rounded character to give him some scenes that aren't fully Ren-centric. |
rebecca-in-blue chapter 6 . 9/14/2016 I really enjoyed this chapter. You capture Hux's mingled frustration and curiosity towards Ren very well in the first section, and his lster interrogation of the Bith prisoner is so intense in a squirm-inducing way. I can't wait to see where the confrontation between the two of them goes, now that Hux knows "everything" about Ren's true identity. "What kind of man abandoned an order his family had in large part created" - This line threw me a bit, because it makes it seem like Hux has already figured out Ren's parentage. Maybe it's because I've been away from this story for a while, but I don't see how he could already know any specifics for sure at this point. Tiny SPaG error: "{any} failure on their part" |
Goshenite45 chapter 14 . 8/2/2016 Cute:) |
jazzers444 chapter 1 . 7/31/2016 Yay cute |
Lamia of the Dark chapter 2 . 7/23/2016 Oh no, Ren's late! I can already tell this meeting is not going to go well. XD Hux seems to a neat-freak if he's polishing windows and dusting himself down while he waits... lmao at the ship being designed specifically to be suited for people making "grand entrances". Is Colonel Nedret a different person, or just a typo of Nadret's name? Ooh, surprise visit from Kylo Ren! Just what Hux didn't want! XD lol, now he's thinking Ren probably isn't human... Ooh, mind touchy-touchy~ Seems like Ren has taken an interest in the Genenal. :D |
Guest chapter 16 . 7/21/2016 In canon, we don't know how good a pilot Ren is. (He is Han Solo's son and a bona fide Skywalker so this should be interesting.) |
jazzislife chapter 15 . 7/10/2016 Love it. Can't wait for another update. |
PrueHarrison chapter 14 . 7/3/2016 Oh my! That was a good ending to the chapter! Thank you very much :3 And kudos for the quick update - It always makes me happy to get a notification for Chain of Command :) |
LavenderMochi chapter 14 . 7/2/2016 I just want to say that this chapter is probably my favorite so far! I can't wait to read what happens next! |
