I cried. Three times. Thought you should know, so thanks. I can't believe how amazing human they are. This is exactaly how, not only the characters themselves would react, but how humans in general react to shock, fear, guilt.. love. The bit where Adrian threw up after shock (granted, still in as well) I realized "Whow, this is actually really accurate. This is how human beings behave. This is magic, this author is literally magic." I wish I could hug you. I love this story. I'm telling my friend about it. I'll probably read it again before the year is out.
