Damn it all to hell... Whyyyyy?! Just freaking why almost all mass effect fanfiction writers use female Shepard?! Is it so hard to use a male version for once?! I'm sorry if this review somehow offends you, that wasn't my intention by any stretch. I'm just tired of finding good written stories only to find out the author used female Shepard. AGAIN. Pleeease, for the love of god, tell me why?!

It's always so disappointing reading stories like this. The casus belli is immensely emotional. Post-contact human society no doubt would be flooded with propaganda and conditioning to ensure that revenge was attained regardless of the cost. After all, they've been invaded by aliens, and victimised in the truly worst of ways. Yet here we are with a human species, for whom revenge is nothing more than a lazy political goal. There's no emotions here, there's no angry acts of genocide, or anything of the like. This story lacks passion. Truly disappointing.
