DalkonCledwin chapter 12 . 8/22/2019 Final Fantasy Tactics introduced both the Princess and Cleric classes, which were more or less the same thing, though the Princess class was missing two of the spells the Cleric granted access to. The spell list for the Cleric included the following: - Aegis, which when cast will simultaneously grant the recipient the effects of Reraise, Regen, Protect, Shell and Haste. Think of it as a Wallara. - Dispelna, which is just another name for Esuna. - Chant, which is something I'd have expected to see on a Dark Knight, not a healer. It allows the caster to sacrifice a portion of their HP in order to heal an ally for twice that amount. - And lastly, Ultima. Ultima was one of, if not the, strongest attack spells in that game outside of summons. Imagine Daphne as the party's Princess :D |
DalkonCledwin chapter 11 . 8/22/2019 Um… I just had the urge to… you know… shout the word ‘Mahogany’ repeatedly for no reason other than convincing my audience to turn their screens off before the show is well and truly finished. I’ll laugh if Hedwig starts pulling the same sorts of “Where the fuck did that bird come from!” stunts as Vaarsuvius’ raven familiar. I think it was the ‘can levitate tanker trucks’ comment that worried the professors more than just about anything else. Most grown wizards would be hard pressed to do stuff like that. |
Guest chapter 8 . 8/22/2019 Well, to be fair, the real world does still use quills… although, you would be hard pressed to find someone using one anywhere other than places such as Sturbridge Village and Plymouth Plantation; both of which are located in the state of Massachusetts in what Iris would refer to as “The Colonies.” I won’t mention the other major location in Massachusetts where quills are likely still regularly used, because it would be counterproductive to proving that the nonmagical world uses quills. I will however point out that places like the two I named, do exist in Great Britain. I will also note, it isn’t just historical reenactors who use them, as professional calligraphers do too, albeit not as frequently as fountain pens. You do realize, Doorbells are old enough that they would actually predate Minerva even if you were to use the Crimes of Grindelwald retcon for her birthdate. They’d even be commonplace by the time Tom Riddle Jr. was born. So in other words, she really has no excuse for not being aware of their existence. Did... did Iris teleport or was she already in the room? I know that Final Fantasy has spells which can accomplish both effects, which is why I'm honestly confused as to which one that was. My money is on that being an example of the Vanish spell being turned off, but it could also be Warp... |
Acolyte of the Blood Moon chapter 12 . 8/22/2019 Very interesting, I love this story so far. Iris and co are a riot to read, as is other people's reactions to them :) Please continue! |
Kragh chapter 12 . 8/19/2019 Another good story. Sorry to say, but I seriously doubt Iris sanity. |
Mugen-Muse chapter 12 . 8/16/2019 Hope they don't blow it up on their first day. |
Mugen-Muse chapter 11 . 8/16/2019 Heh, I would imagine they're already making waves among those watching them and they haven't even gotten on the train yet. |
Mugen-Muse chapter 9 . 8/16/2019 Yeah, why don't they call it "Merlin's School For Gifted Youngsters?" Granted, they probably wouldn't have a bald headmaster that's reliant on a wheelchair for mobility, but still. |
Mugen-Muse chapter 6 . 8/16/2019 Indeed. |
Mugen-Muse chapter 4 . 8/15/2019 Honestly, the things that could have happened if Harry Potter had been exposed to Star Wars before HP Canon could start... |
Mugen-Muse chapter 3 . 8/15/2019 Normally don't recommend applying "game mechanics" to reality, but this might be an exception. Wonder if they'll figure out how to freeze a "dungeon" solid to the point that they could gently tap it into falling apart. |
Mugen-Muse chapter 2 . 8/15/2019 And all that without a wand. Good thing she just went with wearing red for her Red Mage theme. Granted, the outfit's design doesn't quite scream "witch" or "wizard" like with the Black Mage, but still. They're both closer to that descriptor than the White Mage. So, Red Mage and Jedi. Wonder what else she'll include. Urahara huh... Not sure what to say to that. Positive things most likely. |
Mugen-Muse chapter 1 . 8/15/2019 To be fair, I think the whole theme is a form of escapism where the character manages to escape their crappy life for one of adventure. That's not to say everything is all sunshine and rainbows though. At least the end usually has the character feeling like they've grown in ways that normally wouldn't happen prior to their escape. Agreed. Even if Dumbledore manages to use memory charms on those in CPS, the organization would likely have digital records at some point. Those would be harder for him to erase since part of the process requires him to acknowledge the existence of the technology that makes the digital records a possibility. Personally, I'd prefer the White Mage if only because of the current recurring spell list. Kinda surprised at how the job class doesn't get its own game what with the things said mage can do when not being nerf-ed into the ground. Still, Red Mage is a better fit for practically any magic user of Harry Potter. Anyway, this definitely looks like it could be a nice story. The idea that Dumbledore's little plot to mold the "chosen one" was ruined by the very protective magics he hoped to exploit is especially nice. It provides a plausible explanation for how the Dursley family might behave differently than canon. Plus, the magic of Harry Potter is flexible enough that it can be used with just imagination and a strong enough will to make things happen. |
Stormshadow13 chapter 1 . 8/12/2019 Also, forgot to add and how much I love you sensei is. Everyone have to love our shopkeeper ex captain soul reaper |
Stormshadow13 chapter 12 . 8/12/2019 Awesome. Love it. The story really peaked my interest right now. And I think it’s really good. Been reading a lot of Litrpg novels lately. And it just fits right in with them. Love it! |
