Ghostisreading chapter 12 . 9/5 I'm out of chapters?! This is amazing and I desperately need more. Its so well written and I love how you handle all the strong personalities. And yay John will be arriving soon! |
Guest chapter 12 . 5/11 This totally sent shivers running through my spine and I commend you for making a wonderfully written horrific story. It’s quite scary, cheers! |
OwO chapter 12 . 2/20/2023 Well, I like what you’ve done for the stepmother. Complex characters for the win! Seems like the stepdaughter is a little too spoiled with her tantrums, though no doubt she has similar abandonment/resentment issues as her stepmom. Okay, so ghost in the main room is… original mum maybe? So many dead kids is suss. Also auntie is suss. I think Harry has been more useful in recent stories than he was at the very beginning. But it’s also possible that my expectation has been recalibrated to expect less of him? Cooperative sleuthing is fun and the last story where both he and John had success was striking. You’re right in that here - as in the first story - a lot of people really did nothing except flail about providing opportunities for Naru to ‘process of elimination’ the matter. I know nothing about the Ghost Hunter show so I can only imagine that at one point or another, all of them had opportunities to shine. Monk and Shrine Maiden sure do seem to handle their specialties ‘not doing anything’ pretty well (which in itself suggests they can’t tell when it has - unless the problem persists. They have to be shook internally from time to time as a result. It makes me lol to think of them teaming up with a non -spiritualist whose main job is to say ‘You missed a spot’ until they eventually manage it. |
OwO chapter 9 . 2/20/2023 Haven’t read the chapter yet, am about to go to bed but I saw your AN and just in case nobody else has said it yet: have you tried the way back machine? It might have a copy of that rune masters’ website. I’ve found multiple copies of the most random things on there before. |
OwO chapter 9 . 2/20/2023 That was fantastic. Totally worth staying up so late for. This feels like the kind of story that lingers in your mind and makes you happy when you think about it. |
OwO chapter 8 . 2/20/2023 That was awesome. I loved it. So horrible for the poor squib lady and very cool for Harry and John both doing achievements. |
OwO chapter 7 . 2/20/2023 Okay, so Harry suspected Hiruma of insurance fraud right from the word go and rejected Jou, thinking he wouldn’t burn himself on purpose. I’m thinking it IS Jou, the spirits are reacting to his actions and he burned himself by accident because handling flammable material is always dangerous. Let’s see how we go! |
OwO chapter 5 . 2/20/2023 So I’m just at the end of chapter 5 and have come to realise that this story is probably one of those ‘Someone else’s story happens, and Harry is there’ ones. Mostly from comments in the last couple of chapters that imply common knowledge about certain people and events. It’s a mixed situation. I’ve really been enjoying the story and the characters and the writing itself is fantastic but have had an increasingly empty feeling as what I thought was ‘building up to something’ just… wasn’t. Harry didn’t benefit the situation in any way. The whole thing would have unfolded almost exactly the same if he wasn’t there. Even though the underlying story and mystery was definitely interesting, the result was anticlimactic because Harry himself was literally pointless. But when I peeked at the next chapter I saw mention that the story will follow original ideas from now on. Since your writing is so good, I have all my fingers and toes crossed that Harry will be more than a paper doll now that he won’t be hobbled by the constraints of someone else’s story. |
jansesu chapter 12 . 10/27/2021 I'm so sad this fic died, it was really interesting. |
Khenzani chapter 12 . 8/7/2021 This is really wrll writtwn. U captured the characters essence and portrayed each well. The scenes were well thought out and made sense. I also hope someone knows what was originally on the walls, now i'm interested. Regardless, please update, I really want to see where you'll take this. |
angelie-kun chapter 12 . 2/3/2021 I loved this episode, and can't wait for the next update |
ChaoticInscriber chapter 12 . 1/15/2021 I like that the damages one would expect to come from such rough handling actually crop up, it makes more sense even when Harry is marveling in his head that other people aren't hurt as badly as you'd expect. A lot of the things happening i/are/i really dangerous, people should be at least getting a bit roughed up as well as well-scared from them. I have no problem with Harry's physical woes - between the battering he's getting from the Ghosts and things flying about, and his body showing that there are Consequences for failing to do things like stretching regularly, it works. As he mentioned in this chapter himself, he really hasn't been keeping up with that and needs to start pushing himself to remember, if he wants to keep getting involved in these kinds of cases. I think three Quite Hazardous cases he couldn't magic his way out of where he hurt himself by not remembering to take precautions he already knows he needs to manage is just about right to get it into his head to make Progress in that regards. He's quite stubborn, accustomed -indoctrinated, even- to putting his own well being last, and having friends get hurt or nearly hurt was bad enough but this last case involving kids so much just drives it in harder. Add in how much his lack of self-care-baselines interfered with his ability to help so many times... Yeah, he's going to start remembering, even if it take a while to get good at doing Enough Regularly. They might still get tossed about a bit, but I'd expect that future cases with this whole group would include a Harry who is at least mostly remembering to stretch often and such. And probably get fussed over with reminders from at least John, who he'd probably accept most of it from, and possibly several of the others if they pick up enough pieces to be aware of the right things to poke him about - like the need to stretch! (I have a similar if somewhat opposite problem to such an injury - my ligaments are too loose so near enough every joint I have can and will shift out of alignment on a whim if I am not Doing Enough Maintenance Regularly. So when I suddenly move in a way that uses a certain batch of muscles a little less commonly the weirdest patches will feel strained for a bit at least - you don't fully realize how interconnected and affected the muscle groups are until you pull something near your right bicep using your left arm to wrangle a seatbelt, or can't lift a mug because of an ache in your lower side- and a lot of my aches only Resolve if I do something that gets them shifting back into place, like laying flat on my back with my legs propped up for a while or keep an arm in a sling. If I come down badly on the porch step and roll an ankle, I can and have rolled more of an entire leg, straining the sides of all those joints, and strained a good amount of the other leg in completely different ways from catching myself on the way down. Hips are a Right Pain when they go awry - that bothered me for days last time!) I like this whole thing so far. A lot of Figuring Things Out, and a lot of Harry's perspective, which means if we haven't read (or remembered) enough of Ghost Hunt we don't know how Shibuya became Naru either. ;) I like the detailed attention to Harry's own mastery, it gives depth and import. The others are coming steadily around to respecting his work too. I don't mind slow pacing when there's so much to detail. A lot is happening! Even when it felt like the progress was glacial (to the characters - to us their interactions are still A Lot Happening). I look forward to seeing the continuation~! |
LoveFanFictionForLife chapter 12 . 10/25/2020 This is a really great story! You've captured the dramatic vibe and made harry a proper character for this story, he's not overpowered or underpowered and he's not a whump magnet either. I have arthritis aswell and i just wanted to say you have written this very well with how arthritis can be affected by even the smallest of things like a cold area or uneven ground! Great work! |
Annebeth Chase chapter 12 . 7/26/2020 This is so well written! I love this story! |
Michelle Kristoffersen chapter 12 . 3/29/2020 p update soon |
