You're keeping everybody in-character nicely. I like the idea of Nick needing to give up things now that his income is lower. Good to highlight what he chose to give up to become Judy's partner. Granted, not having to worry about being arrested is nice too, but it wasn't a straight-up improvement in Nick's life.

You've got them bantering nicely too. I'll be keeping an eye on this story :)
