Is the last name "Lodge" a reference to Kabal's MK9 voice actor, David Lodge? That's a nice detail if it is, and a neat coincidence if it isn't.

Hm...that actually does sound a lot nicer for Kabal's story as I did always wonder how he was able to become a police officer despite that he was once a Black Dragon thug. I mean, in the rebooted timeline, did the Special Forces helped him become an officer after he assisted them in capturing Kano one time? A shame MK11 didn't continue with that and dumb him down, like everyone else they did that to. I do also like how he got burned in this version and got his "current" appearance.

Do you know what the sad thing is? Everything Kano said about why being a cop sucks is a hundred percent right. It doesn't matter if you're some desk jockey in a small town or a beat cop just trying to do your job and keep people safe. If the people you're trying to serve and protect continue to demonize you and even kill you, it's very understandable to resign and find work elsewhere.

I loved this iteration between Kotal and Jade being exes more than the bullshit they pulled in MK 11. Kotal is a bastard who's no better than Shao Kahn. He was more than willing to murder nearly the entire Tarkatan race, sided with Shinnok against Earthrealm, and a host of other crimes, including keeping Edenia a part of Outworld.

Idk what the hell NRS was thinking having this horrid couple together. It was forced, stupid, and downright insulting to Jade. Glad you wrote this as it brought to light a lot of things. You have a better understanding of MK than possibly anyone else.

Hm...I do actually like this version of events a lot better than what happened in the story mode. It did seem rather odd how Past Jade defeated her future self despite that her future self should be stronger than her. Like, is it because being a revenant causes their strength to decrease or something like that? The games really should have been explored more somehow. I am curious if you'll plan on doing other remakes of the MK11 chapters, like if Kitana had some assistance during her fight with Shao Khan to justify her winning against him or like Past Kano's death causing a massive time paradox event or something more major. If you think about it, if Kano died during the events of MK2, then Shinnok's amulet wouldn't be taken from Raiden's Temple and thus the events of MKX wouldn't really happen because Shinnok's Amulet wouldn't be in Mileena's hands and thus Kotal wouldn't need the assistance from Earthrealm and Li Mei's village wouldn't have to flee to Earthrealm for them to go to Outworld. So would Past Kano's death caused Shinnok to not get decapitated by Dark Raiden because he would still be inside his amulet?

Damn. This makes me miss Onaga even more. We never got much from him besides being, former Emperor of Outworld that's so powerful, Shao had to poison him to even stand a chance, he had an unbeatable army due to his powerful resurrection ability and that he was enough of a threat for the elder gods to actually do something because he planned to fuse the realm into one singular plane.

I started reading this series (and MK fanfics) again because ever since the Kombat Pack 2 reveal trailer, my interest in MK has piqued again. You really fleshed out Johnny's character here. And his wedding to Sonya was perfect. I can actually imagine them bantering at their own ceremony as they wait to exchange vows. And you fleshed out his relationship with Sonya a lot better than NRS. From how they first got together, to their relationship blossoming, Sonya's pregnancy, eventual divorce, and reconciliation, everything was perfect. I already feel like Johnny's the best written character in the NRS timeline and you made him that MUCH better in this chapter.

I liked this explanation. Perhaps if Valkaria's blood was used in the resurrections ritual, it might have had a role in Twindel's actions and skewed memory.
