Damn the Flamels are terrifying, as they should be. If knowledge is power then surely they are some of the most powerful people on the planet. A petty threat like Malfoy wouldn't even register. Is this year two what 'competent adults' tm looks like? They just casually slay basilisks and catch Pettigrew and help out Sirius without anyone needing to strongarm them into it. My first guess for the taboo was either Voldemort or You-Know-Who, but then you said it needed to be spoken in school often and changed to 'professor'. That was a fun exercise and very neat way to introduce magic. There is a lot more I could unpack here, but the chapter is a bit too long for me to want to go over it all. Great story so far.

This was quite enjoyable and entertaining. I found it commonsensical starting with Harry’s use of the magical appendix and practice followed by the Flammel’s restructuring of Hogwarts and funding of St Muggo’s move away from London. Focusing on Runes and having the dragons feast on the spiders made a lot of sense. Best, Kali

Wow, this chapter is so bland. Harry doesn't have any initiative or agency. Everything is about reacting to his constant failures.

Just reread this one. It remains one of my favorite stories, and the hint of Luna/Harry at the end is delicious icing on this wonderful tale.
