Ophis-The-Infinite-Dragon-God chapter 14 . 8/27/2022 Obviously no one does due to social stigma outside of foreign communities (whom still practice it) and it being wierd af for the locals however first cousins are perfectly legal to marry in the UK even to this day. (The Queen was actually third cousin to her husband) |
Sanders7201 chapter 17 . 8/13/2022 great story |
TennysonPoet chapter 14 . 6/11/2022 This is a great story and I like how the changes alter a perception. Saved it to favourites so I can re read it agin later. Thanks |
Kai chapter 14 . 5/3/2022 IIRC Harry jumped on Vernon's back when Vernon kept his first letter away from him. That's something that a child whipped into submission would never do. Voluntary physical contact with your torturer? No, definitely not. A seeker needs a superb hand-eye coordination. That can't be achieved by sitting in a cupboard in the dark and never be allowed to play/only be allowed out to do hard physical labour. Harry's a bit too blind with his eternally damaged glasses for being so good at seeking, though, so it doesn't fit together completely anyway. |
Kai chapter 10 . 5/3/2022 Yeah, Sirius seems to be rebel enough and pureblood enough to show up in a pimp suit. *shudder* |
Kai chapter 8 . 5/2/2022 Very good! I like this call on the carpet for Snape who I see as a traitor, preparing the aurors and healers into consisting of solely death eater material for his real master's return. But I like that the person who hired him and consistently defended him, even though he MUST have known those numbers, was called out on it, too. Demanding higher standards than every other teacher while providing lousy instruction, except (perhaps) for his death eater buddies' spawn. But honestly, we know from canon of TWO students who got into his NEWT classes who were not Slytherins or Ravenclaws: Tonks who wanted to become an auror so desperately that she even fought through Snape's shit, and Granger who was intelligent and diligent enough for everything anyway. |
Kai chapter 7 . 5/2/2022 Are Weasley's socks at least one red and the other gold? That'd be a statement then. "I" would prefer to keep them that way... Magicals are less efficient at transportation. Individual is superior, no question about it. Apparition beats everything. But taking two weeks to transport 100,000 visitors to the Quidditch world cup? And the early arrivers were early because they had to be, not because they made a holiday of it for fun. When the group arrived by portkey they were asked to leave the area because the next portkey would arrive "in five minutes" IIRC. At an international airport like Heathrow that's the average number of passengers of half a day, with runway movement in 30 second intervals. Regular train transit to the stadium would be overstrained, but could be done in two days. Perhaps a chartered train or two could lessen the strain considerably. |
Raiju001 chapter 17 . 5/1/2022 Well thought out and wonderfully put together! the permutations you have come up with are very enjoyable to read! Thank you for the story! |
Min's awesomeness chapter 17 . 4/21/2022 Finally I re read this story in one go...As well written and ejoyable as the first time. Thank you for sharing this. |
Ptolemyspyjamas chapter 2 . 4/11/2022 I think this fic could have been great but a time traveling Harry with future knowledge and Fudge plus everyone else just going along with everything means there's no room for conflict. Which makes this fic simply boring. |
SunPho3n1x chapter 17 . 3/21/2022 I absolutely love this story! |
Baelorfan chapter 17 . 2/25/2022 Very nice. I enjoyed the nods to real life in recognizing that everyone must get something when negotiating, and that both Fudge and his goblin counterpart get about ten percent each from the new fees. A commission, if you will. This is only the second story I have read where Minister Fudge changes his ways. The other story had him change after the end of the TriWizard Tournament. |
Baelorfan chapter 3 . 2/24/2022 Smart negotiating! I can live with thia kind of corruption. Ten percent of the fee used to be normal in the Indian sub continemtbin the 1950s and 1960s, but the job was to be executed on time and meeting quality standards. Nowards, our leafers steak 98-99 percent. So the project takes years and is done shoddily. |
SixFtWookie chapter 13 . 1/19/2022 This heritage for Vernon Dursley is my headcanon. It explains a lot and makes OotP a little more poetic. |
deadal chapter 13 . 1/3/2022 At first, it was a nice read, a good fix-it fic. But things start to pill up and now Vernom is the hidden nephew of Umbridge and secretly a wizard with deep emotional trauma... You had a whole verse to play with, expand further the very limited POV shown in canon and yet you keep looping on the same thing! |
