Just reread this, and it was even better the second time around. Yes, Hogan's plans can be very complicated. He overthinks, LOL. Kudos!

I love that Hogan's plan got ruined. His plans are so often unneccessarily complicated and risky. A simpler plan (like Kinch's) is often the best.

And poor Newkirk for getting yelled at.

When I found that idiom, I immediately thought 'that's Klink' so I like how you took the expected route and then turned it on its head. And you provided good reasoning for doing so by showing how Hogan took advantage of Klink's ignorance to make him more afraid of the rules than of Hochstetter in this instance. Luckily, Kinch and the others were on it! And in what is getting to be a theme with your stories for this challenge that final line is a hoot!
