I love this story. Holy crap was it fun and you did such a good job with the time travel. Very impressive.

I loved this. Time travel involving an older Luke is so rare... this is the only real example that comes to mind, especially for finished fics. And what an example it is. Well done. Luke and Mara were great, and while their fate and the fate of their world makes me sad, it was well-thought-out and written. And I love that the Yuuzhan Vong are the reason for the time travel - it makes sense that something outside of the galaxy and outside of the Force would cause the Force to react this way.
In my mind, I have a fic (that sadly I'll probably never write) involving Fate of the Jedi-era Luke and Ben Skywalker travelling back to basically the same moment in time... and yeah, advice against the Yuuzhan Vong is a high priority. The problem is that I haven't read those books properly yet... :O I skimmed a lot of it, but.
But I loved the Ben-Luke dynamic in Outcast and thought about halfway thorough that hey, if they are investigating weird Force phenomena, falling through time isn't too much of a stretch, right?
Anyway, what I wanted to say is, this fic gave me such satisfaction because it was like reading much of this dreamed-of fic of mine. Except I'd have Ben instead of Mara, and I'd have them live long (yeah, that also makes it impossible to write, I have these unrealistic imaginigs of rewriting the entire history...), and also, just to mess things up, I want to go more heavy on the Dark Empire stuff and have Palpatine try to escape as a spirit when he's killed by Anakin, and have Luke anticipate that and plan for it and catch him somehow, a bit like Brand, except I'd have Luke survive it with difficulty. Or not. I don't know exactly. There are multiple versions in my head.
Sorry, I just love serious, well-written time travel. And this was definitely that.

This is probably one of the best time travel stories in the SW archive. Thank you for writing this masterpiece. I loved it.
| Newbie89 chapter 19 . 11/25/2017
Great Story! I would love to see a sequel!
| Blackholelord chapter 19 . 11/8/2017
Well I liked it, personally a little aftermath chapter. A summary in the far future about a different outcome of the Vong War. Also describing between point A and B.
| WavesBlade chapter 19 . 10/22/2017
Not a bad Time Travel fic. Shorter than I would have liked, but then again, it wasn't padded with filler to flesh it out. It was straight and to the point, conveying a decent story.
I 3 Mara Jade, shame she bit it.
I'm curious, do you plan to have a sequel to this that details what happens in the future? (Or would that be to much, as there are a huge amount of changes that would happen)

Another really awesome story! Thanks for writing and posting!
| INQ8448 chapter 18 . 9/24/2017
Only after reading a second time did I notice your little nod to the Republic Commando series by mentioning Etain Tur-Mukan :D I happy now.
| sky196 chapter 18 . 9/23/2017
Sorry, typo error. Wanted to say I love this!

Oh wow! I just leave this. I never liked time travel stories, but you nailed it just right. The part Luke sacrificing for his father had me in tears, but your epilogue was a great ending. Glad to see anakin looking out for scoundrels :)
| Dinogeek chapter 17 . 9/5/2017
Aww. I pretty much knew they were both going to die, but that didn't make it any easier to read. T-T At least they're back with their family now, and new little thems are coming into a better future.
