This was a very good read all the way through. The characters all felt true to their Canon counterparts, and was good at keeping you hooked to the plot. It's a shame it ends where it does, but at least it's not a cliffhanger. Thank you for the story!

Yes, a review to a long-dead fic, pointless but I wanna say something about that message at the beginning.

I'd say that description gives the source work too much credit. It's good, and it has it's potential, but it falls flat simply by the characterization of it's main character Subaru, and the way the "subversive" aspect of it simply rounds up making something bland, to the point of it being forgettable and inconsistent. He's just a generic protagonist written to be weak, and then made whatever the plot needed at that specific moment and conflicting with what it was before to move on, then trying too hard to excuse the bland-ness and inconsistency in his character as "grittiness" or "deconstruction". Something you have to watch to the very end to find the good in is, if you ask me, subpar.

Subjective criticism, I know, but I watched it all and it was so uninspiring and bland that I lamented having wasted my time with it, and promptly forgot pretty much all about it (and I remember practically all of early HxH, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, and Homestuck lol) except for the incredible annoyance I felt for Subaru's inconsistent character at specific points, and how insulting it is that he is supposedly a "normal person". I usually describe him as a normal person's idea of a normal person.

Either way, I'm enjoying this so far. Lelouch is a much more interesting character than Subaru, not because he's smarter or not flawed, I love John from Homestuck and Shirou from Fate and you can't go dumber or more flawed than them, but simply because he's incredibly boring and inconsistent.
