Reviews for The Murdered Do Haunt Their Murderers
District11-Olive chapter 13 . 10/25/2020
Harper: I like her voting method tbh like it's hard to make sense of any of this given the circumstances but she's right that she has to choose. I am already crying seeing her mark off Gabby's name tbh like why did I make her so unlikable I am upset. This is especially heartbreaking because they have known each other for so long like idk I'm sure we all hated someone in high school but enough to execute them? Yeah kay maybe a few but 6? Rough. You did well with the emotion here and Harper trying to be as organized and logical as possible. I feel like she could do well and yeah I don't think she'll be a target.

Shane: Honestly I can't blame the kids for freaking out when they see the others check off their names like for real the betrayal would be so real. Turning on each other also feels so realistic even though it's sad to see. As if calling out Nico is going to help get you less votes Giles? Like yes desperate times call for desperate measures but you need to calm down. SHANE NO/ I get it like honestly I can't say I wouldn't do the same but like that was kind of heartbreaking because I like him? He already got himself six votes just by not voting so like AHH.

Simone: Another vote for Gabby please stop. Simone is such an ass I hope she gets voted for like voting for Nico because she's never had any good dirt on him is fucked. SO THEY'RE NOT ANNONYMOUS HOLY SHIT. I'm not okay hearing these names please help. Seeing the votes as tally marks is sick and I love the imagery but all I can think about is that my girl might die and ahh. Simone is an ass, please die. Like yes it's sad to think that she'll actually get killed just for being annoying but also I hate the way she thinks about people.

Freya: She's so sweet not being able to pick more than 3 but like girl that is not smart don't get yourself killed. I cannot believe this just happened, I am shocked and horrified and very sad because I liked Shane a lot and holy shit his head exploded. He got what he wanted but honestly I'll never be the same. Her reaction is adorable like she just wants some time to respect his death but that's not how this works at all. I hope she does okay because I'm not ready for her to die but also she's too sweet for this?

Trina: If this bitch isn't killed after what she did I will be in your DMs in a RAGE. Wait how tf is Gabby not there like I'm not complaining but everyone voted for her and I was ready to be hurt again by this story. The fact that she kind of got what was coming to her because she's been the backstabber so much is poetic but also kind of sad like they're young and dumb they don't know what they're doing. The last few lines where they squeezed each others' hands was awful to read because it really showed my earlier point of they're young and not completely bad. I dislike both Simone and Trina but they still don't deserve it you know?

Gabby: SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN 6TH DON'T MAKE ME THANK SHANE FOR THIS WHEN I'M STILL SAD OVER HIM. I'm glad to see that she isn't completely unaffected, but she ofc still would snap at someone for crying. Her reaction feels right honestly, throwing up and then running rather than cry about it. I'm glad to see she hasn't lost her sparkle and is still going to mouth off given the chance. No wonder she got so many votes.

Brandon: Ugh I hate him just the line about him being a favourite to win and then not trusting Griffin like bye. It's insane like yeah how do you start? I would straight up start running and hope I fall off the mountain but how do a bunch of rich kids plan to survive? I'm interested to see if alliances do form and for how long, like these kids know each other but can they truly trust one another? I'm intrigued.
District11-Olive chapter 12 . 10/25/2020
WAIT THERE ARE TWO PARTS. SERVE.

Madison: The description as she wakes up is so good like I can't. I love that she isn't immediately like terrified, more just confused and creeped out. I am really happy with the way you had Anabel break the news, her being calm and just saying it like it is rather than overdoing it for the drama. It actually made it more effective imo. Yikes so they have a time limit, that's crazy but also makes sense because otherwise they could have more time to plan a way out. It's creepy that they're in a classroom like damn, really hits close to where they come from. Also Anabel? Do you need to talk? Hating on children like geez.

Audrey: I also love this reaction? Like who would actually believe her, this whole thing does sound far-fetched even though obviously I know it's true. The fact that so many of them had red flags that maybe could have helped them is interesting, but of course hindsight is 20/20. I like Audrey more here than previously, even though I've always kind of liked her. Oh my god I love this? What a great way to cover the tracks, make the parents think that the kids are already dead in some bus accident so that you can carry this out in peace. Using the interviews as letters in the last chapter was genius honestly.

Jeremiah: CALLED OUT DAMN. Anabel is savage and honestly I'm here for that. I love that all the rumours and stuff is coming to a head here before they all start dying, with Anabel being responsible for taking down the school because she thinks it's right. I like it a lot. I'M WHAT THEY WHAT. They're going to choose who dies? So that's why Anabel suggested that Trina would want to make herself more likable than Griffin? So that she won't get chosen to die before the game even starts. I'm dying this is such a good twist but also fuck why did I make the most unlikable bitch I'm sobbing. I like too many of the stupid/annoying/bitch characters this is going to be a bad time for me.
District11-Olive chapter 11 . 10/25/2020
Trina: WTF Anabel? She really just wants the drama doesn't she? Honestly I can see that Anabel and Trina are kind of alike, but I think Anabel is smarter and clearly using Trina for something. Why is it beneficial to air somebody's dirty laundry out to the class? I literally have no idea but this seems to be a very big plot turn that's about to happen. Still hate the girl, though.

Harper: This got real dark real fast. I guess thinking about their families is kind of like a play on the 'last night in the Capitol' chapter we usually see? These letters are intense tbh like I would be mad confused hearing one of my classmates read this shit. Honestly same Harper I wondered why the parents would be saying these things like it seems too genuine for a lot of the families we've heard about. WHAT IS UP?

Griffin: My heart broke when Trina said that was it like no give him something please he should get to hear some words of support. Then I remembered the talk with Trina and Anabel and immediately regretting hoping he gets something. This is straight up awful and I don't even care what he did to that girl because this was horrible. WHY TELL PEOPLE THIS ANABEL? The last few paragraphs of this broke my heart all over again and now it's on the floor in pieces. You did this.

Juliet: She's absolutely right like everyone has secrets and I'm glad that she isn't hating Griffin now. Trina is the one who deserves to be fucking sniped at this point and I hope it's Griffin that does it because she's a bitch. Things are quickly picking up speed, especially with the hint of them needing to get as much sleep as they can. It's hard to interpret Shane's intent here honestly, he believes that the statements about Griffin were true but also doesn't completely seem to be judging? I hope all the kids are like this but I doubt it.

Jackson: Holy shit holy shit holy shit. He's right of course, those letters really did sound final and it was weird that they were read to them all. I like that this final bout of suspiciousness ends with them all passed out on the floor. Did they gas them or something? I assume so? So it begins now... but how will it start? For some reason I don't think they're going to be let loose around a Cornucopia b/c you said things are different. I am not emotionally ready for this but let's go.
District11-Olive chapter 10 . 10/25/2020
Alex: If this isn't some teen angst idk what is. I'm glad that they got this conversation tbh because it seems to have been a long time coming. I really enjoy the details from their time at school, it really rounds everyone out and makes them feel like real classmates. I can definitely see how he was a lot of the problem in their relationship, but this reaction is also pretty heartbreaking. Oh god Sawyer...stop it.

Dane: Every mention of Gabby sends me I swear. This feels like the most intense group project where a few people are like 'let's just do the thing' and everyone else is like 'the thing is DUMB'. I do love the increasing questioning of what's going on, and the fact that while obviously they can't guess what this really is their guesses are at least a little bit true. Him being mean to Doran though I hate it, let the kid be happy and stop yelling at him.

Seraphina: Interesting history? Honestly there is nothing more terrifying than the quiet person finally snapping and I think that was captured in their reactions to her. She's sweet and really seems to want to be heard, even if only Gwen truly wants to hear it. This was really sweet though like the others kind of seeing this nice girl crying and being like 'well shit gotta help her'. The nice moments interspersed with the angst really is a good look.

Eimer: It is cute to see her with the other nice ones, like she's actually a really sweet girl with a bad rep and a shitty romance. UGH the shit bag really did go for Alaina, like I knew he would but it's still disgusting to see it manifest. This is heartbreaking and I hope Alaina and Brandon burn in hell for doing this to her. She deserves better damn.

Madison: High school drama x 1000 geez. There are so many intricacies woven into these relationships and that really makes it believable. The fact that this one hook up has effected this many people is crazy but also makes sense. Everyone is already on edge and irritable, then this shit goes down. I love that people saw a fight and were just like 'so this is what we're doing, count me in'. Ofc Gabby, ofc. Makes sense that the counsellors don't care if they fight, probably just looking to see who can hit the hardest tbh.

District11-Olive chapter 9 . 10/25/2020
Shane: This was so much so he was the one screaming I assume? And he was attacked by a counsellor but why? I like seeing a lot of the kiddos kind of banding together here, all of them seemingly thinking the same thing that something is wrong. His attitude is as fun as ever even if he's an idiot. I can appreciate his place in the story tbh and he's at least a fighter (even if he lost obv).

Chanel: Ugh she's great. I love the darker, more heightened tone that these chapters have been getting and then this fight with the girls and eventually Anabel really added to that. Everyone is suffering and the real fun hasn't even begun. Them being at each others' throats and then Chanel just walking up to the adults like she doesn't care, girl has some balls.

Simone: She's so much and I hate it but like what school doesn't have someone like her in it? She's clearly very attention seeking but I don't think that is helping her to make any friends right now (not that she probably realizes she should be trying to do). I'm interested in seeing what's up with the bags and what they're going to be doing up on the hill.

Blake: Him caring so much about Shane is really sweet but also means that he's not very good at letting things go. I could see him really being affected by what happens later on as the killing starts, though the same could be said for most of these kids. It's nice that Shane isn't trying to guilt him into it, but also Shane seems even more messed up here than his section. I can't see Shane doing very well if he's already hurt and likely concussed.

Audrey: I like the tone of this section especially being so close to the games. Everyone is tired and a bit irritable and they're seeing more and more that the counsellors don't care about them. Oof, the prize is water? At least Audrey got a nap in and didn't have to pair up with Alex or Simone. She just seems very normal compared to them and I like that she just sounds very over things. Relatable tbh.
District11-Olive chapter 8 . 10/25/2020
Gabby: Damn who hurt you. She HIT Milo, like I believe it but also what are you even doing. I like that you gave her some more layers in her section than what her classmates see, actually that's been a really good theme throughout. This brought out a really sad, lost side to her that I had almost forgotten about and I can only say how dare you make me feel things.

Mariana: This is a low blow tbh making them read the poems out loud when obviously teenagers are horrible and it will not end well. Mariana is sweet, very open and her relationship with Griffin is kind of cute. The hints of regret that she doesn't know him very well are also nice, guess they are learning stuff at 'camp'.

Gwen: I still can't breathe thinking about this piano rap and I now love Yuto more than I could have imagined. It makes sense that not everyone is as suspicious of the counsellors because they obviously can't expect that they'll be killing each other in a few days. I like that she's concerned but also trying to play it off, especially when Madison agrees. I wonder what's up with Simone?

Brandon: Ew he's disgusting. This whole inner monologue with him desperately trying to get Eimer to sleep with him was revolting but also very well done. I'm glad that Eimer isn't giving in, but seems like she's in for a world of hurt if this plot with Alaina actually comes through. Die in a hole thanks.

Gerard: As if he's thinking about the fucking HG I love the irony here. One of my favourite things is when an author uses the title of their story in the sections, it's just so satisfying. I like that things feel weird for him even if he doesn't know why, it shows that he's pretty intuitive. I wonder what's screaming outside?
My-Mental-Mind chapter 7 . 10/4/2020
I'm catching up slowly, so here's the next one.

Freya - Monica twice in one chapter? You've blessed me. Sky - LIKE THE CLOUDS? IN A BOTTLE? PFFFFFFFFF. She's kinda ditzy but very sweet, and I'm glad she feels more at peace with her classmates.

Alaina - Alaina uhhh pass? She's always trying to be the perfect girl, and with her arrange marriage boyfriend and Sonya in her life she's giving me vibes of someone who desperately needs some kind of superior validation. Don't worry about Anabel and Trina girl, focus on you.

Monica - ASDFGHJKL SHE ROASTED JACKSON SO HARD like omg I was DYING. And the sarcasm at the end? Gold. Okay Monica, chill, yeah environment's important but damn the sassy girl has a temper. But she's still my queen, so happy you're doing her justice. Ugh Jackson go awayyy. I hope Freya and Monica become allies, because I feel like Freya being dumb mixed with Monica being a sass queen would make for hilarious interactions.

Jeremiah - Oooh Sawyer be creepy and I feel bad for poor Jem, all he wants is a great family and to just live in his own little creative world. Ah finally, there's a sense of something greater at work. Of course, this will soon playoff and I can't wait to see what happens.

Yuto - mydadwillsueyou!Yuto was hilarious here and Zara can't HANDLE it, I was dying. It seems, however, that they have a lot of confidential information about each of the students, which is interesting. Considering they're supposed to be mentor figures, I guess they need to know the info but that doesn't stop it from being quite so sinister in the first place.

Great chapter here! I'll review again soon.

Over and out!

My-Mental-Mind chapter 6 . 10/2/2020
back again with another review? look at me, I'm getting this done...next year~

simone - oh come on now, you should have showered last night and you wouldn't have gotten yourself in this situation. ah well a beauty queen is a beauty queen and now she's ending up in a no good situation. fizzy hair! *gasp* i might just die!

dane - I forget how rigid he seems, very militant and kinda giving me psycho vibes. huh I guess Shane busting the pipes explains Simone's conditioner situation from the last POV. I don't remember must about Dane but from this chapter he seems mature, but almost withdrawn, so I'm interested to see if that'll turn out handy for him in the end.

gwen - Damn, so shane really did mess with the water supply and now they're all enjoying nature's supplies...until they all start whining of course. Baptiste is so clearly hiding something but he's hiding it well, and really he's very angry over a few spoilt rich kids. I wonder why...

eimer - She's well, not smart, but in a lovable way. She's very sweet and I do feel pretty bad for her as she's feeling left out. Ass and pec lmao that was great. Bless her, moved away from Australia to America and now her Mom and her aren't so close. That's so sad!

channel - Wow, Wes is so...ew? Chanel doesn't give a damn half the time but this guy must have messed her up pretty badly for her to be shaken by someone like him. Quincy shut everyone up, damn.

A nice chapter you got here, so I got you a review in return. :D
My-Mental-Mind chapter 5 . 9/29/2020
Hi.

I wil get you to 100, so between among us and writing, let me give you my thoughts.

Trina - Sis, a snitch and a snob damn. I kinda forgot about these character besides Monica but it'll be fun to connect with all of them again. Oop- Gabrielle was smart to dodge the dishes, you go girl, we love a rebel, shame she'll probably be punished for it though.
Juliet - Okay this was a pretty sweet scene and Juliet is very relatable. Online games and pretty Instagram feeds are big moods. Mariana is ugh and Monica is DONE WITH IT. It's really nice how Monica and Juliet get along though. It's very sweet.
Jackson - It's going to be a fight to the death my dude, and Jackson can see it, but somehow it's so cleverly masked that it's hard to perceive. Besides, straight-A-business-at-25 Jackson can't have his grades suffering. Welp, you're in for an awakening you were mildly suspicious of!
Brandon - wow man, you're all down for a game of cards and then boobs? okay Brandon, clearly you're depraved. damn naked boi in a steamy shower scene, and off emier rejected him. Damn, so much for being in top form tonight. LMAO THE BUNK BEDS don't even
Audrey - lmao channel and gabi are at each other's throat and audrey is so done with all of it. honestly, this is iconic, I was laughing at channel smacking gabi with the pillow.

Such a great chapter! I miss your writing - it's easy to read and flows perfectly and the characterisation is impeccable. I will review at some point in the future XD

Until then, over and out!

Alphabetta chapter 5 . 9/24/2020
Hey! still here, still reading, just being lazy but I want to comment all chapters. I am glad Juliet died in the arms of a friend. Monica did her best to save her, but her lack of skill in first aid made her bleed to death. it was a really sad scene and I loved it, thank you.
Alex is creepy and disturbs me the way he expresses himself the things he's done, as if he didn't ditch Audrey for Jackson.
District11-Olive chapter 7 . 8/13/2020
Freya: It's cute to see them actually bonding and I think Freya was a good choice for this POV because her commentary on Shane's story just made it that much more memorable. Sky in a bottle cracked me up. She really is just so sweet but girl you are not going to be raiding liquor cabinets anytime soon sorry. I'm glad that at least some people don't have Shane even if he does deserve it. However, I think Freya is going to get into some pretty stupid shit once murder game starts.

Alaina: She cares so much about what people think like that has to be time consuming god. Again a high school mentality so hard to blame her but like chill fam. Dang so there is a reason for her to be paranoid, she is a mistress to her roommate that is intriguing. Why does Anabel want to talk to Trina? I can't imagine anyone wanting to be around that bitch by choice.

Monica: Okay she is getting annoying now. Not that the planet isn't important but like the individual trash is less an issue compared to the pollution from industry and stuff. Okay I'm gonna stop myself before I forget to comment on the actual story anyways. At least she sticks to what she believes in so kudos for that. I definitely think she struck a nerve with Jackson and if she wasn't trying to hurt him like... you need to do better.

Jeremiah: WAIT HE IS CANADIAN WHAT? Also he is so cute like can't hide his feelings and feels a little lost and a lot of pressure to be original like baby. No we are getting further into the tension and angst and I am LIVING for it. I do wonder what the purpose of these talks are but they bring about the tension and the pretty blatant revelation that these counselors definitely know a lot about them. He's just so pure though, like ugh. I love him.

Yuto: AND HERE WE GO YES. Honestly I don't like him that much but I think this was a brilliant POV for him. He started off trying to be funny and charming, then started getting the idea that she knew more about him and got defensive. Typical rich kid response of 'I'm telling daddy' but he also actually fights her on leaving both to piss her off and to see what she has on him. Why do they know you Yuto hmm? I love that the kiddos are getting little bits of clues that things are not what they seem to be. I am so excited that I am finally past the intros too like look at me go?
District11-Olive chapter 6 . 8/13/2020
Simone: This was the most dramatic POV but HONESTLY I feel her like no you cannot sleep on wet hair and yes you must condition or your life is over. I think she has every right to cry and I stand by her on this one. I think she is going to not do very well if this is enough to literally make her sob but that is a problem for another time.

Dane: He's such an ass like Shakepeare this and Malton that give me a break. He also seems like a pretentious nerd but also one that doesn't speak to people because they're like below him. The fact that he was trying to tell himself to be more selfish because he is going to be living such a lavish lifestyle like ugh. Get over yourself. OUUU SHANE DID A THING. Burst pipes? Holy Simone is going to kill him.

Gwen: She's kind of what I expect of a rich rebel, like she is still entitled and confident but she tries to make a point not to be as prissy as some of the others. Wow Shane is going to make a lot of enemies having burst the pipes and now they have no running water. That's rough like it's true camping but these are a bunch of rich kids so I can imagine this will not be fun. I do enjoy that things are getting worse for the students and like they still don't even know what their purpose is haha. RIP.

Eimer: All I can say is... bless her soul. She really just feels out of place and she wishes that she could go back home where she understood the way of the world better. Her friends aren't really her friends and they call her stupid which is bullSHIT. She is really endearing and I agree that she is tough, even if she seems like a bubbleheaded blonde. I'm like really into her. Though I 100% doubt that this notebook is confidential so.

Chanel: At this point I will gladly let Trina live as long as WES DIES A PAINFUL DEATH LIKE TF HUN? Keep your hand off the merchandise and literally go suck an egg. Chanel yes you are stronger than he is and even though you don't want to hit him now, hopefully you will have no reservations when the murder game starts. I'm still wondering why they want students to get to know each other? Are they trying to encourage alliances? Like it seems as though all the benefactors already have students' files so why would they need to hear this? I don't need sleep, I need answers.
