Reviews for One More Day with You |
---|
![]() ![]() Completely random thought, but when Stella says “Don’t say it, I have a system.” It reminded me of Elena from Felicity during the run up to their exams. And it made me chuckle. Stella’s fierce like Elena was too! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Just reread this fic and I love love love love it! You are my favorite Anne author! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Just did a re-read of this one and enjoyed it so much! This Gil is so sweet; I really love him. Thank you for your lovely stories. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This story is my favorite thing in the world! |
![]() ![]() The final scene here was so heartbreaking on re-reading. The pain emanating from Gilbert in waves, though nothing explicit escaped his lips, was undoubtedly felt by Anne. The finality of the situation akin to death by a thousand cuts. And we feel it so acutely through the page. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I know it's been a long time since you wrote this but I hope you are still receiving comments. This was a beautiful story. I love that one more day, plus a bit of honesty, was enough to push Anne and Gilbert together. I particularly liked the early release of Roy so that there could be a positive relationship there rather than just bitterness. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Bravo Bravo Bravo! When he brought her to the schoolhouse I was pleasantly surprised and so thrilled that where they started their journey as ‘Anne and Gilbert’ was where they were going to start their journey as ‘The Blythes’. What a wonderful story! The benefit of “coming in late” to this story is I get to just slip right into the sequel effortlessly. See you in the comments of When Tomorrow Comes |
![]() ![]() ![]() My heart is just going to explode with this penultimate chapter. Oh the domestic blissAnne settling into her “home” with the Blythes and Gil’s heart to heart with Fred. What’s not to love about all the love going around |
![]() ![]() ![]() Eeeks! Their easy affection is addictive and it’s quite amusing to see them leave teasing crumbs for Rachel. “I wouldn't want to marry anybody who was wicked, but I think I'd like it if he could be wicked and wouldn't.”… and then maybe sometimes if he would lol |
![]() ![]() ![]() *welp I don’t know if it’s because I’ve reached the end of chapter 27/30 so the story’s end is nigh or if it’s the pending “last times” approaching for the girls, school, even Anne and Gilbert that are making feel nostalgic but this chapter makes me emotional of what’s to come and yet also excited for their next phase in life. What a beautifully written story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() How satisfying was his conversation with Josie! “I like my chances”! I love a confident Gilbert. And he’ll soon enough be an “official” Cuthbert though Marilla’s hug was probably the moment he truly became one |
![]() ![]() ![]() And Anne will soon be an official member of the Blythe family… well as soon as Gil finishes school but it’s going to be soon enough. She’ll fit perfectly into their dynamic |
![]() ![]() ![]() “And sometimes I would tell your that I knew you loved me”. I don’t know how you do it but throughout this story you’ve delivered a lineuttered either by Gil or Annethat just pierces my soul because it’s so romantic. |
![]() ![]() ![]() All I have to say is SWOON |
![]() ![]() ![]() Christine was such a disappointment but I snickered at the fact that a childhood with Josie Pye primed Anne for this very moment. I also wouldn’t call it a bromance but the scene with RoyGil was really… sexy?! Gil’s ‘i didn’t come between you two, you came between us’ and his response to Roy’s declaration that he wouldn’t interfere with “I know you won’t” What! You go with your bad self Gilbert Blythe lol! I love how he has no doubt in his mind he won’t ever have Anne in his life even though he is still only 99% confident she’d return his love this time around. I’m squealing in anticipation like Phil and Priss. |
