im sorry, but any time travel, where the main character is actively making their life harder is just too much. you have info and are being stupid about not using it, he is like 15/16 he cant do anything to fix this, he is not an idiot, not sharing it with anyone but other children is just stupid. any child would want to share this with their parents, its natural, not sharing it is just dumb and is artificially creating tension.
