just finished! absolutely loved this last installment, it rlly did fill that hole in my heart I always had when reading windy poplars, and I adored being able to see the progression of their change from friends to lovers who truly knew each other so well. I loved Mrs Blythe going to visit Anne and “write some meddlesome letters”, and changing the ending so Anne and Gil got to see each other at Convocation once more. the writing as ever was so beautiful, and definitely raised my own standards of love letter expectations for my future! really deeply loved this, I will definitely be coming back to this again. I don’t know if you would ever consider uploading these to ao3, but I think you would meet a similarly enthusiastic audience there. hope you are well, sending good weather and well wishes 3

I just love getting to read an extra dosage of the Anne stories that feels so deeply authentic. It almost seems a behind the scenes look at what LMM wanted to write but couldn't because of publishing standards. And I want to read Iona of Harris!

I just finished reading all windy willows letters just after reading Anne of Windy Willows.

It is such a great story. It has all the missing parts of AoWw. I really like that you made them human. At some point I thought you are going to make it AU, but instead you made it clear why Anne didn't become a writer, and why Glen was chosen as new home. I loved the idea of Gilbert's mom intervention.

Lovely, lovely, lovely! enjoyed this very much. LMM never gave us enough of what went on in Gil's mind and his life, so this dual perspective on the events of Windy Willows is a delicious treat.

I like these stories so much and I wish you would write some more, both going forward in time and back in time. I would love to read about Gilbert's POV from some of the earlier books, as well as the house of dreams from both Anne and Gilbert's POV. If you haven't yet seen it, may I recommend netflix Anne with an e, it might get your creative spark going, and it's very well done!

Well, first off forgive me for being so late. As I told Catiegirl, I have not given up on these wonderful stories, I have just been very busy. Now on to the review. I love how you started this, with the picture of Anne dancing about trying to get away from the snow, I could actually see it and it made me smile so well done. I also appreciated the mention of Marilla and Rachel having dinner with the Blythes and can only imagine it was awkward. The books never say anything about them interacting other than that they were all at the wedding and I don't wonder. I feel for Anne, here, because I understand what she is saying but I also don't like the picture of Gilbert all dressed up smoking cigars, it is so not right and I can understand Anne wanting to escape; I hope Gilbert sees it as well. At least we know it all turns out correct in the end. As always, great job!

"Iona belongs to you, Gil, not a publishing house.": Hm. Interesting.

"A hothouse orchid": Reminds me of the song "Hothouse Flower" from Anne & Gilbert: The Musical.

"Gilbert, I want an Island life.": Don't worry, Anne, you'll get it. :D

"But the Island will always be harbour and home.": That makes perfect sense for Anne.

"It's you who makes the everyday miraculous, and I love you for it, Gilbert. Of all the gifts you've given to me that is greatest of all.": I love these sentences.

"Or I don't know - Glen St. Mary.": I laughed. That's where they're going to end up!

"I could travel to a hundred cities, each one grander than the last and never see another case like the one I discovered on the outskirts of Sarnia.": I burst out laughing. Just you wait. Just you wait, Gil. You'll find another case like it in the form of George Moore in the outskirts of Glen St. Mary (aka Four Winds).

"That best of me belongs to those who have given me the most.": That reminds of me of something Gil said in Anne of Avonlea (paraphrased), "I want to give back to the future in thanks for everyone who has come before me."

Regarding the information about Norcross: Huh. For a moment, I was surprised that he's going to keep it a secret but then I realized that if Gil outed her … I guess (talking about the change in pronoun) … it would undo everything Norcross had worked hard for the past three years. … And her (It's still weird saying that!) diploma could very well be revoked.

Hm. So it sounds like Gil and Norcross are on finally on friendly - or somewhat friendly - terms.

Interesting. Great Uncle Dave is asking Gil's opinion on something medical. I think that's an excellent sign. :D

"I have no interest in rising up the ranks, even less in kowtowing to the egos of surgeons and specialists. I want to make my own way …": I love this because it's the exact opposite of Gil in the beginning of "Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story." So these sentences are awesome. :D

"A swelling sea": It seems that Gil has hinted Glen St. Mary in the previous letter in this chapter and I'm thinking he's hinting at here too.

"'I don't want diamond sunbursts or marble halls. I just want you.'": This made me full-on grin.

"All I ever wanted is you.": This makes me want to start crying from happiness. When I read this for a second time it made me want to swoon.

"Don't come for me at Phil's, meet me at Patty's Place": *GASP* *Eyes widened and hands covering my mouth* Oh my god. … Oh my god. … I don't think I have any words, kwak…. In my second reading of this whole chapter I just realized the significance of Anne telling Gil to bring lilies-of-the-valley with him. Haha. :D

"Anne Almost-Blythe": I grinned ecstatically and gave a small chuckle. Also, I also grinned madly at Anne's "Gilbert-Almost-Doctor-Blythe" comment.

I'm glad you switched it around a bit so Anne attends Gil's convocation. I always thought it was a bit weird that Anne didn't attend but I always brushed it off as thinking that maybe the reason Anne didn't attend was because she knew she would see him in about a week or two. But then again, wouldn't his parents go? So if so, why wouldn't Anne go when it's her fiancé?

Wait, what?! Kwak, you've written about them for *three years*?! Wow! I didn't know that!

Wait, you're not quitting this sphere! YAY! I'm so happy!

Thank *you*, kwak, for these beautiful, exquisite, emotionally raw, EXCELLENT stories … for both the Redmond Diaries series and the Windy Willows Love Letters trilogy. They have opened my eyes to what the various characters were thinking and feeling along the way and I don't think I'll read Anne of the Island, Anne of Windy Poplars, and Anne's House of Dreams (and perhaps even a bit of Anne of Ingleside!) the same way again. I think you could say that these stories are as much cannon as the Anne of Green Gables books themselves! I know that I will recommend them to any Anne fan that I meet. Once again, thank you for writing these wonderful stories. They were always a treat to read … even when you pulled on our heartstrings. :)

This chapter is everything! Poor darlings, they are so excited about all that sex they're finally going to have! Adorable :) I love how they both picture (or feel) their House of Dreams by the sea and next to the lighthouse even thought they still have no idea about Four Winds.

I'm so happy you've decided to "send" Anne to the Convocation after all. It did seem weird for her to have missed it; I used to explain it to myself that it might have clashed with her exams at Summerside's high.

But my favourite and most meaningful moment was at the very beginning, actually. The line about belonging! It brought me back to the little Anne driving with Matthew and saying "It seems so wonderful that I'm going to belong to you. I've never belonged to anybody", or something like that. It gives the whole story such a wonderful feeling of closure.

Fanfiction readers probably often say to their favourite authors that one day in the far away future they are going to hold their "real" and printed novels and remember the times spent on reading their fanfics and I think, no, Kwaky, you must already be either an accomplished writer or just extremely well-educated and well-read because this level of writing skill, passion, love towards the words, respect of the craft isn't just pure talent and doesn't come out of thin air. As much as I love Untie the Knot and your first one-shots you must know you have reached new heights with your most recent stories. Thank you for this exceptional experience.

Kwak, my hat is off to the master! These last letters were so beautiful, the love and oneness between them is tangible. I loved Gilbert seeing that beam of light and being reluctant to leaving the bed to find it- yes, the house of dreams will do!

And Convocation- finally! That was a touch that has us all applauding, it's what we want and what THEY deserve after all this time. I always liked in UTK that Anne had given Gil the grey silk tie for graduation, because it placed her near that moment, this is even better!

I had wondered if Norcross should be heading for the Arctic, she seems to have the personality for it after all; I thought that was a fitting opportunity for her. I am glad he moved out, and also that you didn't give her a sudden lovely personality, I liked her remaining her!

The discussion of the island and what it meant to love each other as themselves moved me so much. I always loved where they ended up and the happiness of domestic life, but you've made it a deliberate, thoughtful and beautiful choice- I loved Gilbert asking 'why should the great have the best of me?' I feel that they really can't question where they ended up, because it was so exactly what they wanted together.

Anne's comment about Iona being for Gilbert nearly made me cry, because it was. It showed him the depths of her in a way that she couldn't simply speak, and that was so her. You spoke for all writers when you said that it was about love, not leather bound stories in a store, and I loved that realisation for Anne as well as myself.

I've loved your depictions of 19th century Anne, and to me they expand my understanding and love of Anne and Gilbert. It's been a gorgeous ride, I will re-read them as often as I do the originals. Thank you for all that you have written. But I'll be honest, I can't wait for uncensored weird, that sounds marvellous- with all of us on here I say RELEASE THE MIGHTY KWAK! It's going to be awesome.

Thank you for this wonderful story and the unique insight you gave us into the world of Anne and Gilbert that LMM kept private. It was a privilege to move with you from story to story. I will miss this 19th world but I look forward to your modern AU. Then after that you might find that there is scope for the imagination in the Ingleside Anne or the Rainbow Valley Anne (as LMM never quite did her justice in these books unfortunately!). The possibilities are endless, as you so wonderfully demonstrated in Begin Again. Thank you :)
