But I can’t help but comment, bc it’s baffling me, why they’re fighting Zabuza(other than Naruto).

Their only job was to protect the courtesans. Not a random old man. Them messing with what’s not part of the mission or any of their business made one of their clients freaking die. That’s demotion quality.

Canon made sense bc their “protect Tazuna” mission was still true. But here they had absolutely ZERO reason other than morals (which wasn’t even discussed). And the fact they’re Continuing the to protect the random old man? That’s endangering his team for no reason. Zabuza would have no reason to fight/kill them if they weren’t messing with Tazuna.

Canon, when Zabuza realized they’re not getting payed to kill Tazuna, he stopped fighting the team which was ordered protecting Tazuna, bc there’s no longer a reason to.

Like, other than Naruto, no one was questioning why they’re moving away from the mission in the first place?

Gato’s actually their client, since he ordered the courtesans to come. So they’re also angering their client. Gato being evil or not, Konoha has an agreement to uphold.

Notice how the team in canon didn’t directly kill Gato? Bc that’d make it political. Since he’s a businessman from a different country. Actually, even from the same country it’s bad to mess with politics unless ordered to.

Even if the missing nins were mistaken thinking the Konoha nins were protecting Tazuna, a simple talk would’ve avoided that.

I imagine the report would be like this:

Kakashi: “the mission was completed, But we fought missing nin which ended up with casualties. Even losing a client”
Hokage: “There was a missing nin after the courtesans!?”
K: “Um, no.”
H: “So they fought you bc you were bc of you specifically(Kakashi has enemies)”
K: “well, not that either.”
H: “…then why were you fighting?”
K: “I myself don’t know, actually. Writer hasn’t explained it. Morals probably? They were bullying an old man.”
H: “Moving away from the mission caused casualties with your clients. Easily Avoidable casualties.”
K: “Yep.”
H: “…”
K: “…”
H: “… ur fired”
K: “Understandable.”

For someone terrified of dying this mc seems awfully not bothered about growing strong enough to make that less likely.

Naruto is a world that runs on "train to become a god" - a world where literally just training hard enough gives you god-like powers and she KNOWS this.

If she so badly wants to live being as strong as possible with what is basically magic should be the priority.

If anything this characters' "flaw" should be basically desperately working themselves to exhaustion every moment, sort of like Sasuke actually, but instead of out of a desire for revenge a desperate desire to be strong enough to NOT die when the dozens of people she KNOWS are coming come to flatten everything.

I would 100% choose being a ninja (would cry scream throw up ofc) but I'm also very practical in that i know there's bad things coming, and the best way for me to survive is to be a ninja.

Also, deadass,,, i care too much. i could never fool myself into Not Caring abt the main characters, especially because I've read what they've been through, so i can't picture myself knowing there are little kids being snatched, hurt, ostracized without at least TRYING to help.
