What a fantastic chapter! Really well done!

Without spoiling too much of course, the opening scene was quite good, as we get a lot of insight into Asuka and how she's handling being lied to (not well of course), and Shinji wondering if they can complete the task Misato gave to them as they escaped.

Then we have a surprise bit of information from Asuka about a mutual connection between the two, which leads me to wonder how long someone as been around.

As for the Wunder, a lot of stuff is happening there. Disagreement among the crew about SHinji's role in 3I, and of course Misato's confinement seem to be the beginnings of something on board. Discontent with your captain could lead to mutiny (boy that would be interesting), I like how Aoba defended Shinji, and it appears that some of the crew, while they disliked him, seem to be questioning the official story, which has yet to be changed. Sakura is disappointed that Shinji is gone, and I think worried for his safety, and she thinks Ritsuko did something to Asuka after her last mission was over.

As for the adorable couple of Mari and Rei, things seem to be going alright until Rei tells Mari she will be co-piloting Unit-08 when it arrives. Mari loses her shit (and rightly so IMHO) because she wants Rei out of harm's way. She yells at blue and leaves to go talk to Misato, who gives her some advice, and we see Mari break down, and of course that doesn't happen often, so its nice to see that she's got as many emotional problems as everyone else. Misato gives her some advice, and of course her closing line was priceless.

As for WILLE's committee, I do wonder what's happening there, its certainly going to be interesting to see what shakes out of those events.

So, keep up the good work, and I'll be patiently waiting for Chapter 18.

hur hur lol I'd like to make up with asuka... it's not worried after 14 years she's like 3 years older than me... an onee-san, if you will... any who , great updates, your writing is as compelling as ever, I'm just hoping my heart isnt horribly broken by tragic plot.

Really powerful chapter it almost feels like the calm before the storm, there's a hell of a lot of emotion going around in this one but I loved the humanity and feel of it all. I thought the scenes with the crew were interesting and I loved the interaction between Sakura and Takao it felt really deep and like a family. I really enjoyed the scene between Asuka and Shinji they are starting to feel like a much stronger couple now and they can talk about much deeper things and though I won't give spoilers I think the whole thing with Kaworu was fascinating.

The thing with Rei and Mari that was interesting and I was really glad to see Rei stand up for herself yes I get Mari's view she is really scared and that's understandable because we all worry about the ones we love and the scene in the cell with Misato was very revealing I like that we are finally starting to see the hidden face of Mari because though her normal face is funny and playful her deeper face is someone who is afraid and has a lot of emotion under there but is afraid to let it out as she does not want to burden others. I hope she can get past this as I think after everything Rei has gone through I think she would understand her fears.

Theories; Ritsuko helped Misato and had to "take over" to actually fool everyone to help their cause against NERV or Kaji is actually alive and faked his death

I really love how you made Shinji fully forgive Misato for her actions before. It really makes me want to see her live and be together with Shinji again when this story ends.

Also, Takao acting as a father figure to Sakura is a very interesting choice! I like it! I also like how Aoba is starting to show some sympathy to Shinji.

I wonder how the interrogation between Ritsuko and Misato will go...probably not well.

I hope all will go well towards the end and Nagara, Tama and the bitch Ibuki will look like assholes cause i honestly can't stand those 3. Also hope you won't kill off Misato

Well, that was a great chapter. Asuka and Shinji on the run, Asuka explaining not wanting to appear weak was a good opening segment. That and Shinji holding her hair was sweet.

That flashback segment was something else, entirely wonderful! I can't wait to see what other scene including those folks will be like.

Ritsuko... lying bitch... not only to the crew, but also to innocent Rei. In case some of my other review don't make this clear, I heavily dislike Ritsuko, well hate actually fits better.

Also, Spot the cat, eh? Like a certain Lt. Comm. Data who had a cat? I'm sorry, but Data has more emotional range before the emotion chip than Ritsuko does, IMHO.

Mari and her tits, great part there, and then she starts taking about Rei... always good for a nice chuckle when Mari's in her own world. Also the entire scene with Misato and Mari was great, and very informative.

Also, of course there is manipulation going on. So it's not the whole council of 12 that's the problem, just one ass under someone's thumb. So, what else has been manipulated thus far, and who is the person on the Wunder? If it's like "The Hunt for Red October" its the cook, is always the cook.

Can't wait to see the next chapter, and I'm glad you're getting back on schedule!

I feel you of made Gendo a More Complex Villian.. I feel he is too one Dimensional in this fanfic...

This chapter was a huge roller coaster I do feel with this chapter that Asuka is starting to let her guard down in full as up to now I feel like its always been up even around Shinji to an extent I do wonder what her dreams about and why they make her so ill. The scene with Misato and Mari was both hilarious and heartbreaking on so many levels but I'm glad despite everything that they are still friends.

Ah Ristuko...Ristuko is it wrong that I want to throw her out of an airlock? I don't think any good can ever come of her taking charge and her talk with Rei unnerved me because through out this story I keep thinking that maybe she knows what Gendo's real plan was but has never told anyone even Maya who she claims to trust in, also in my view she's always been someone searching for power and this is a dangerous quality as great men and women of power are those who have power trust up on them and do not take it from others because they want it.

A rather nice twist, foreshadowed but still sprung and well executed. Last two chapters are quite good, please keep it up.

Unit 01 must awaken for shinji.!

My theory is Asuka and Shinji gets caught and are prisoners but Units 01 and 02 will no longer work for WILLE or Shinji and Asuka make it to another organization to help out with the whole NERV/WILLE conflict. Wonder what Sakura might think about all this cause the voice actor of Sakura confirmed that Sakura looks up to Misato. Also watch that Misato's cross necklace is a key or map to the Tower. Again Maya's a bitch
