What an action packed chapter! Also, great chapter name.

Oh, Rei and Mari are so cute together, and of course with Mari being herself, she couldn’t resist kissing Rei when the opportunity struck. They seem to make the perfect couple. Then Ritsuko catching them coming back from the date was also interesting, and it’s nice to see Ritsuko not being the mean and nasty one.

Maya however being rude to Asuka is expected, but I expect her to try something eventually in regards to Shinji.

Matarael rears its ugly head as well as the Angel Asuka and Mari must kill, and it’s nice to know it still uses an acid attack, although it appears to have a few more legs than before… and it injures both Asuka and Mari in their assault on it, which leads to a wonderful WAFF scene detailing just how much Shinji cares for Asuka.

Also, Rei’s connection to the Angels, and her seeing Kaworu, its interesting and certainly has got me thinking a lot, and I can’t wait to see where you with this.

Twelve Directors of WILLE? Well, not a shock, but, I do get this sick feeling in my stomach when groups of twelve are meeting to decide something… call it a gut feeling… or a preconceived notion, whichever you prefer.

However, the meeting with Pirani herself was quite interesting, and it appears Kaji (recorded near the site, in the Geofront? Kaji was there… he saw everything and he has always worked in the shadows) had sent info to these directors about Near–Third Impact, stating it wasn’t Shinji’s fault, or showing as the case may be. Always good to hear some news that the world won’t continue to hate Shinji. She listens to his whole story and believes him which is certainly a step in the right direction, and yet Shinji hasn’t told Asuka anything form the day the world nearly ended, which I hope he does soon.

Well, Mari and Rei, has a nice ring to it if I must say so myself. And Asuka is wholly encouraging it, which is nice to see as well. And the scene with Mari going to ask Rei out, and then having Rei ask her out was wonderful! I can't wait to see how that date goes.

So, Shinji is realizing some of his mistakes, yet, Asuka reassures him everything is fine her, Angel contamination and all. Yet Ritsuko is worried about spikes in activity from the monitoring patch. I do winder how this will effect things down the line…

Hmmm, so they’re revaluating near Third Impact, eh? And they want to talk with Shinji too. How interesting they think of this *after* he’s been recovered.

Mari’s mother too… I can’t wait to see how that tidbit pans out, considering she died in a freak accident similar to Kyoko and Yui. And of course, bringing Naoko into the mix was also an interesting thing to see. I guess whatever Mari is truly investigating will come to light soon enough.

The fight in the simulators was also something to behold, Shinji could have possibly won if it weren’t for the PTSD of his guilt over the Dummy Plug incident. However, Asuka always seems to know how to make him… feel better.

Well color me impressed. You just churned out another great chapter!

It seems like Fuyutsuki doesn't want to be a part of Gendo's insanity anymore. Is he going to defect to Wille and try to redeem himself?

It's great to see that Maya and Ritsuko are still together. I guess the reason for her attitude change was just how bad the Post Third Impact world was. I would probably end up doing the same as well.

There are some species of animals that actually survived the Third Impact? Lucky little devils aren't they?

So Misato finally learns the terrible truth...will we actually be able to see the long awaited meeting between the two in the next chapter?

Also, I'm calling it. Kaji faked his death so Seele or Gendo wont follow him.

Keep it up, the suspense is killing me!

Now I kinda feel bad for Maya. Finally we get to see Touji. Also Misato finally saw the footage so hopefully we get to see the Shinji/Misato confronting scene soon. Also have this feeling what if when they go to Southern France Shinji might get jumped again. Lastly I hope Kaji isn't really dead.

The last line...I hope that, that isn't true...because I would be so sad if it is.

I have so much more understanding now as to why Maya is the way she is she's not evil or nasty its just the hated of the war has clouded her judgement in some respects if anything she is the symbol of what war is and what it does to you and how it messes you up and everyone becomes the enemy I was very surprised by the equal dynamic she shares with Ritsuko, its such a nice surprise to see it written that way and its so nice as I love the idea of confident Maya who does not take any ones bullshit.

I also like that Ritsuko seems to be reaching a point of questioning everything and trying to find her humanity again. Also the kitten was cute as hell and its nice to see that all cats really love Rei and want to be petted by her. I enjoyed as well seeing what had become of Toji and Hikari it was such a sweet touch and great for Shinji to be able to reconnect to old friends.

I like that Shinji/Asuka are starting to really settle now you can feel that there relationship

You are trying to hard to Get rid of the tension in my opinion,

The MariRei ship you've built here is surprisingly organic and lovable. I didn't expect I would be into this ship but I am now.

"Memories of the morning were also still fresh" , just the simulator fight? More importantly, what about the second half of the morning? What Shinji should be doing is touch his own fingers and recall the sensation lingering on the tips. Just joking. And that was some great dirty talk from Mari "it was a close call though, not quite as close as you got afterwards".

The new batch of Angels seem quite lame, does any else? This one doesn't even use its AT field. Or maybe the initial ones of a series are always weaker than the later ones, like the old Angels.

I felt really bad for Asuka at the end of this even though the pain is mental and not physical as she wasn't high enough in the sync its just got to suck and any burning pain is agony as from what I've heard if you burn yourself it still burns your skin for some minutes afterwards so mental acid burn has to be utter agony really loved the scene between Shinji and Asuka and in this chapter I really felt that Shinji did some steps to emotional healing.

The whole thing with Mari and Rei had been laughing and smiling on so many levels as Rei is getting much more confident its like seeing the first Rei all over again but even more forward, and her making out with Mari just made me smirk as she was so not expecting and I have to kind of agree with Ritsuko if Gendo saw this he would flip his lid as one thing he demands of Rei Q was complete obedience and in a way I hope the meet again one day so she can tell him to shove it and maybe rub it in that she's with Mari because that scene would be so funny.

Indeed you have set the stage for Misato to realize she has been tricked and feel like she has done the worst thing ever for being so shitty to Shinji all along.

A very consistent theory you're developing here. Framing Shinji for N3I must be Gendo's elaborate ruse to keep him on a short leash for the scenario when he can use him again to kill off SEELE, or some other deeper political maneuvers. WILLE is directed by a committee of twelve, how uncanny.

Great so Shinji didn't even cause the 3rd impact and its all based on one massive fucking lie and he's paying the price for that lie over and over when he was just an innocent and used as a pawn in Nerv's game...I am so pissed and I would bet that someone like Ristuko might knows about this as she always knows stuff that Misato, Maya and the others are kept from knowing. I like that Asuka and Mari got to clean the air as it sounds like they were friends just with benefits. Mari asking Rei out though was the sweetest thing ever as was Rei beating her to the post as it shows that her confidence is growing I'm also glad that she has quarters now rather than a cell even if the are very small.

So there's a very real possibility that Shinji was never cause the Near-Third Impact and everyone blamed him because it was convenient!?

You have just officially blown my mind. He better expect one sweet, sloppy apology once this is all over.

Also, if I'm reading this right, Misato doesn't know the real truth behind all this? Oh god...How the hell is she going to handle the news? She spent 14 years blaming the wrong person, the closet thing she ever had to a son, and put an explosive collar on him. I personally don't know what will happen when they break the news to her but she'll probably either suffer an emotional breakdown or outright quit WILLE.

Either way, she now has to set things right with Shinji and I hope that the two of them can be a family again. I mean, if he and Asuka have got along so well, why not the one person who was the closest to him?
