![]() ![]() ![]() well i just realized the night wraith in your story sounds a lot like the noonwraith |
![]() ![]() ![]() Damn. I have to say, read the story all in one sitting. I was plesantly impressed by the quality. I havent read anything of yours before but after reading this I'll for sure be checking out what else you have posted. BTW, I found this story because I saw you posting it on SpaceBattles, and came here to read it all at once instead of waiting for you to post it there peace meal. It was definitely worth coming to look at it :) I'm so happy I found this story. I've been flirting with the idea of a RWBY/Witcher cross myself so I was very excited to find this story (and have it actually be good). I definatelly support the idea of a sequel. There is so much more potentially to explore.. especially when the primary antagonists will soon become other people and not Grimm. Mentor Geralt for sure can/should play a big role in helping them make sense of it and figure out how they should think about those sorts of situation. Very nice. I'd also would like to see Geralt fight someone from Remnant eventually. But you are right, the character interactions are far more important than fights or equipment or anything like that. Cant wait to see what you will come up with next. Keep writing, you've definitely got a talent for it ;) |
![]() ![]() ![]() I really, really hope you write another part to this work. You captured the differences in their ideals and characters very good and it would be interesting to see a somewhat calmer Geralt who still continues his way and during the same time passes the knowledge of his life to the next generation |
![]() ![]() ![]() Great story I would love to see a sequel too it |
![]() ![]() ![]() I kinda wish this had a sequel with Geralt teaching the students of Beacon how to hunt Monsters. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was really good, can only hope for a sequel. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Nice chapter. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is great. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Nice, more definitely Geralt here, good job on his character. Minor point, "No Witcher's ever died in his own bed." is because Witcher is a profession rather than a race, if you're not following the Path you're just a Mutant. And since Witchers are Mutants (excl. Ciri) who can eventually recover from most things provided they rest and eat, they have no physical reason to stop. While I can't see Geralt ever really retiring fully, I can see him adopting Beacon as another home and teaching for awhile while occasionally hunting monsters. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This story has nice ending but truth to be told I am disappointed that it ended so soon, I had fun reading it and was hoping I would have more fun reading it in the future, I hope you will write sequel for this, I want to see more of interactions between geralt and rwby characters :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Write a sequal! This was an awesome story that has so much potential. I still really want to see more monster hunts, Geralt teaching the next generation hunters, and seeing how he interacts with the rest of Remnant. This story was short but sweet and I really hope that there will be more. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Very very nice please make more |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is gold. All my searching for a decent RWBY crossover was worth it. This is gold. Pure gold. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm surprised that Geralt took Ozpin's offer. Geralt always seemed to me as a wanderer, epitomized by one of the ending credit scenes where older!Dandelion continues to record adventures with Geralt. But with Ciri in tow, and with her largely calling the shots, Geralt's behavior works here. She's all grown up, and Geralt will be keeping in touch with his friends via magic. Who knows, maybe Yennefer and Triss could introduce and explain magic on top of Geralt's monster know-how. On a more ambiguous note, Ozpin's seeming agelessness is a... bit off. It's the first time I've read a character being presented like this. Ozpin's old, wise, and in his own words, made many mistakes, but the implication that he's potentially immortal hit me. Its been a while since I've read the books, but I don't think he's ever met any immortals during his adventures in the novels. Ghosts, demons, curses, spirits, but never immortals. It's probably the lack of inquiry on Geralt's part that bugs me most, but maybe he just didn't want to poke his nose in place it doesn't belong. It also brings up many questions regarding Ozpin's personal life and his nature that, unfortunately, will not be answered. An even more ambiguous point is Geralt's reasons for staying. I understand that Ciri's his major motivation, but the reasons he gave made him look (and I feel plain dirty describing Geralt this) weak. He's a century-old mutant that's faced dulled with the harshness of life and ostracism, but he's mustered through, even if reluctantly, from one contract to another. But then again, there's not much keeping him at his own world either. There isn't much back home for him to come back to. Kaer Morhen's in ruins, all his witcher friends are going on there own way, and his love interest (Yennefer in this case) just wants to settle down someplace quiet. Finding Ciri was the ultimate reason, his role, for the game. He's the type of character that has moral fiber, but not a lot of personal motivation, no goal. Teaching others his craft seems like an ideal retirement plan in that respect. Maybe instead of weak, "tired" would be more fitting. Most of the thoughts my brain's wracked with is how Geralt's activity will affect Beacon and the people. People questioning him and his kind will be inevitable, but that's just the surface. I'll hold my imaginary situations for the sequel, if you're going to write one. It's been a pleasure and a bit of an honor to read a fanfiction that respects the source material and characters as much as this, while also reaching out to unfamiliar territories. It'll be sad to see this go down, but I'm also happy knowing it's done. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I enjoyed this story a lot. I apparently received it as intended; interactions were well done and everyone was in character. I hope to see a sequel sometime in the future, if for no other reason than reading about Geralt's take on education. |
