ive read around 5 or 6 of the authors other stories and ive noticed that rach one is abandoned pretty much at the same point: Just before a climatic battle.
its kinda frustrating to see the stories end abruptly at some of the best parts with no resolution.

Crackhead theory here, what if for Peter to ascend to a true son of Darkseid he has to pass a trial. It has already been mentioned that power alone does not make one a true son and Peter is arguably Apokolipsys top scientist so intellect is not an issue. Hence the trial. And Grayvens coup is coming up and given that Peter, Kalibak and the other know about Darkseid 100% knows about it.

So what im thinking is that when the coup come Darkseid makes Peter fight Grayven knowingly or unknownly and if he survies and beats him his status get raised.
