Oh, wow. Ripper of a chapter. My heart was in my throat as I read it. I didn't know if you were going to let Ron save Luna's mum, you see. If' I'd known where you're taking this story, if I knew she was going to be saved in advance, then I wouldn't be grinning-out-loud :-) in relief right now.

Okay, now that I've got that out of my system ... your Luna is lovely. It's a fandom rule that *everyone* loves Luna. So nice to see her before her soul/mind fractured. I rejoiced in the differences between her and canon's Luna as Ron enumerated each in turn.

As a H/Hr man I'm well familiar with stories which pair Ron and Luna, so I'm all in favour of that happening here (DON'T TELL ME!) - her friendship with Ron is delightful. Just as it was satisfying to see Luna have friends in HBP and DH, so it is here. Even more so, actually, as I didn't find Rowling's work very gratifying - Harry still treated her badly in HBP, Ron continued thinking her a loon (albeit 'growing on him') and so forth. Now this, this is nice.

The only thing I'm slightly worrying about is whether Ron genuinely enjoys being with Luna, or if he's only acting. He *is* an adult in a boy's body, after all. I probably wouldn't enjoy being stuck with a nine year old girl. And we have his 'wasn't really taking it seriously' thing. I'm being picky I guess, thinking too much, because overall the tenor of the story, Ron's intrinsic feelings, are all positive.

Yay! Thanks for updating! I love reading Luna and Ron's conversation and I'm glad he was able to save her mother. I like the Potter-Who-Lived name. Really exciting chapter.

Well, I'm not particularly a Ron fan; I dislike R/Hr very much (and detest H/G); I'm a H/Hr man; and yet I've enjoyed these two chapters. I found myself wondering, even if you end up having - ugh - Ron and Hermione back together again, whether you would/could imbue this story with such *friendship* that I wouldn't care. I've enjoyed other OBHWF stories in the past where the friendship between the Trio or the Ministry Six just outshone other petty considerations like romantic pairings.

So I was musing about that ... and came across the Luna line. "I owed Luna that much at least." Wonderful. We *all* love Luna, and saving her mother will be wonderful to witness. And put me firmly on your Ron's side. Even if he - ugh - gets together with Hermione later on.

Interesting that you might be setting Ginny up to be the precious princess even more than she was in the canon. Hmmm.

A professional and fully engaging style of prose; I'm keen to read what happens next!

I really like this story so far. I'm looking forward to seeing Ron and Luna's friendship and how this world is different from the one he remembered.
