So I just came back to read this for a 32nd time over 4 years always with a faint hope that it gets updated. It's a shame the author had such great talent. I just so very much want to know the full story of the heritage.

You know, if you got rid of the horrible fanon cliches (like magical cores, magical exhaustion, runes as magic, arithmancy and spell creation) that are NOT part of the HP magical system, you would have a pretty good fic going.

As it is, I move between being interested in the mystery and grinding my teeth at the cliches.

good that it took a vacation. the story has turned to complete shit. Hope you find a better one. Hopefully one that will restart it in the 30 ish..

This is easily one of the best fics I have ever read in HP fandom and in general as well. You clearly made the retelling trope into a much more interesting experience by the changes outside of the MCs control. I love the conflict of the adult Ron in a children's world and how that is explored reasonably always. The ethical dilemas also are another bright spot. i kinda saw that dark turn at the end coming, however that didn't made it feel any better, however it does wonderfully explain the setup of the story. I just hope you find the time and inspiration to someday continue it, because it feels like a story that is dying to be told. I at least would give an arm and a leg to be able to accompany Ron in his otherworldly adventures in the house of Salazar.

Who in their right mind would ever try to be friends with Violet and Hermione? They are clearly mentally unstable. Not just Hermione but Violet as well. She threatened to kill them all and Ron actually knew she was capable of doing so. I ask why? Just try to be courteous with her and that's that. I understand the need to not be their enemy but friend? Why would anyone even contemplate being friend with someone who tried to kill them three times? Ron being stupid really pissed me off.
