I've always thought it would be cool to see Hidan have a kinda reverse-Buddhism vibe, wherein instead of seeking nirvana to escape the endless cycle of suffering; death and rebirth that is Samsara, he attempts to enlighten people to the fact that life IS suffering, and his way of inflicting it is just more straightforward than most. It would mesh really well with the other Buddhist beliefs in Naruto as well.

Crazy story but hard to stop reading
