I stumbled on your fic a week ago, I've been reading it as much as i could (1 million words!)

My sleep schedule is completely ruined, I was hooked on the fic from beginning to end Im not even a fan of Mass Effect and i still kept reading.

As I said on AO3, this is probably the most overlooked line in the entire story. It's also probably the most HAUNTING line to me, because it implies something that I think the story dances around but never quite says outright: ascension is an abomination. It is a horrible process that indoctrinates those who undergo it into believing it is the way of the galaxy. So this whole story is actually a horror story.

I think I was subconsciously trying to address this in Chapter 17 of E&D - the Link is meant to be the perfected form of Ascension, much the same as in Transcendent Humanity.

Finished reading this again after many years have passed and it was even better than the first time. I love the effort and detail out in, truly one of a kind.

How do you think Catalyst would have been different if you were not forced to work within the "organics are destroyed by their creators" paradigm forced on you by Casey Hudson? I notice some anonymous reviewer really got pissed at the Birinchidan, but that straight up wasn't your fault.

Or was it? I specifically recall the Catalyst saying both organics AND synthetics were preserved, but you went with killing all of the latter. The lore here also seems to go against the Geth's desire to upload themselves into a Reaper body.

This story is probably the best Mass Effect AU I've ever read. Just completed my 3rd reread since I found it last year on Ao3 but thought I'd head over to your account here to comment.

You've ruined me for other mass effect stories now btw, I'm forever going to want to help Harbinger get free of the Catalyst. Next time I play the games will be interesting.

Critical feedback: the sheer numbers of human ascended got a bit silly when they were still in the SMC. They ended up OP by sheer weight of numbers. I thought after sending The Rock they would wipe the SMC galaxy of organics, just like the Milky Way cycle but you went Human Ascended Empires instead. Interesting choice, I just think the lack of opposition once the Catalyst was removed made for the second half of the story to feel more like an extended epilogue.

I enjoyed the way the new cycle was slowly built and perfected by them over time to allow for space for the continuous evolution of new species. That was an interesting outcome.

I have read this entire story, it has been worth the days of reading. You both have managed to create a fuc that is rather impressive in a lot of things.

Worldbuilding, you both killed it. I love the details put into the species and planets. You both have outdone yourselfs.

I love how you built qnd added to so many personalities. Harbinger is beyond well done.

Honestly, this fic is my most favorite fic of all time. No joke. You both did a wonderful job.

Now I hope you both take the ideas from the sequel and write another full blown story, but I know it's unlikely.

I thank you both for the thousands of hours that you both put into this fic. It's beautiful. Thank you for giving us this beyond wonderful story.
