Reviews for The Catalyst For Revenge
Maersikai chapter 3 . 1/22/2017
This is definately an angle on the ME universe you don't see often. LOVE IT.
Me Myself and I chapter 3 . 1/22/2017
Humanity's Reaperification might be a blessing, think about it, a Reaper mind is composed of milions of organic minds fused into an hive mind, now think about how Harbringer remotely controlled the collectors, if the single humans retain their individuality within the Reaper they could use empty shells cloned from their original DNA (which can be stored as data and reproduced later) or genetically egineered as disposable bodies, making the promise of immortality a step closer to being fullfilled.

Now, add the fact that the Reaper's gestalt mind might be the base for a direct democracy, if the gestalt can be sustained in a network between multiple Reapers might result into a species-wide perfect democracy, becoming Humanity's government. Add the fact that said government could interface directly with computer systems and it could run the infrastructure with simply a layer of non-sentient VIs running the lower processes, this would make the creations of AIs pointless, therefore would make indoctinatrion unneeded. Just think about it humans existing safely inside the Reaper body while living (and reproducing) throught remotely controlled bodies keeping growing after being processed, Humanity might be the species that turns the catalyst's flawed solution and turn it into the real solution by embracing it and using it to their own ends.

Plus how awesome would be a Shepard who keeps coming back from death, no matter how many times he's killed, he keeps coming back, until the job is done. That alone might be a worse nightmare than the Reaper themselves... it could also be used to hide the harvest while it's being carried out, benefitting the Reapers greatly.
Geralt chapter 3 . 1/22/2017
This is friggin awesome. There's just something good about righteous revenge in general, especially if it concerns something like this. True, the Council and other Aliens weren't really anywhere near that bad in canon, but there were plenty of points where they were infuriatingly idiotic. First they ignore the warnings, and then they purposefully pushed for making Shepard seem like a lunatic, even going outright for calling him that in his face (Sparatus). So it's not very hard to imagine this whole scenario where the Council simply decided to try to do to humans what they already did to krogans, and indirectly to quarians as well - try to conquer them and force them to extinction, and then just leave them like that.

So, yeah, all those things that Council did make me like this story you're writing about a righteous retribution.

But here's the thing. I would really HATE to see the Council just being destroyed by Human Reapers. Merely destroying them wouldn't do. Here they would be - the Council species, I mean - witnessing these huge 2km long alien ships that are wordlessly destroying their ships and planets and killing their population. From their perspective, they'd be destroyed by some alien synthetic species. That wouldn't do. I feel that they need to know outright that it's Humans that are destroying them - and furthermore, that they realize that it's not just that humans had suddenly found some hyper-advanced tech. NO! They need to know that the humans had ascended to a higher plane of existence, that they had advanced beyond any reason, and that they're SERIOUSLY pissed.

And you know what would be even better? It's if you were to incorporate elements of Harbinger's Vendetta - in that way that the rest of the Galaxy realizes exactly that it was the asari who had done all of those things that they had done.

Now, THAT would be awesome.

Oh, and will you make Shepard Reaper develop Shepard's personality as the dominant gestalt personality from all the other millions that incorporate him? Now, that would be very cool.

But these are just my hopes. Having read your previous works, I know I am going to be reading this regardless of whether how you write this and whether it is everything I've hoped it would be.

Vladicus chapter 3 . 1/22/2017
Yeey... New chapter... By the way what's your update schedule? Also i'm curious how much free will do Reapers(Human) have? Are they indoctrinated? I'ts most likely that the Reapers already know about the humans plans so what are their thoughts about them?
salsas100 chapter 2 . 1/18/2017
Oh my... That's just precious.
A wonderful vengeance indeed. To accept so much (loss of body, most probable loss of self. LOSS OF HUMANITY) in order to get revenge? To be vindicated while you take your betrayers down... Delicious! ... The look on the council's faces... :D
Gosh I hope you continue this marvellous fic.
