FantasyDeath chapter 41 . 12/11/2018
Still an amazing story and I'm looking forwards to more!
kmf671 chapter 41 . 12/11/2018
So, we finally have confirmation he's not a lesser Fae! I'm excited to see how his magic lessons go. I was wondering how long it would take Hakuryuu to realize Aladdin has some ulterior motive behind coming with them. I love the replacement of a cloud instead of a carpet, that was actually pretty cool. I'm very intrigued by the way that Ugo and Aladdin communicate, also. The exchange at the door of the room Hakuryuu and Judal are sharing was both adorable and magical. Those two have such a comfortable relationship already, I just love the way they interact. Thank you for another wonderful chapter, I can't wait to see what you have next in store for us!
kmf671 chapter 40 . 12/3/2018
Aladdin is everything I'd hope for and expect out of a Faerie. I love every part of how he interacts with Judal. I feel like he caved too easily to going with them, and now I'm curious to see if there's more to him going with them than he's letting on. Especially with that caveat to him agreeing to go with them, it seemed like an odd request to ask that they trust him, or maybe less odd and more out of place. His wings were incredible, I wish I could see them. I was expecting the reveal about Hakuryuu's brothers and father eventually, but that came out of nowhere. The fact that Aladdin could seemingly pluck that information out of the air really makes me wonder what he's going to be capable of. It also makes me even more intrigued to find out what type of fae Judal is, and what he's going to be capable of. I'm so excited to see what's next in store for this story! Thank you for a wonderful update, and I'm glad to hear you're in a better place now!

I am a bit concerned about the legalities of your plan to print the story. You may want to look into it a bit. I don't want you to get into any trouble.
kmf671 chapter 39 . 8/9/2018
So, after finishing my read through of this, and rereading it a couple of times just to get the feel for it in terms of the subtle hints and nuances that were placed, I can honestly say that I am so incredibly impressed with this story you've written that I don't have words for it. I love your sassy but sweet portrayal of Judal, and that sense from a couple of chapters in of something other about him. I'm not gonna lie, I've read a few Faerie books over the years and guessed pretty quickly about him being a changeling, but the way he figured it out actually caught me off guard as I didn't catch it until Zagan did. I love the dichotomy you've created between Hakuryuu's Unseelie nature, and his conscious, that part of him that says I CAN do something terrible, and that part of him that says but I WON'T do something terrible. You're ability to bring to life the faerie courts and the magic of the faeries is phenomenal. The relationship between Judal and Hakuryuu is really special, and though I'm still puzzling over the comment made about they're heartbeats being in time with each other, whatever it was meant to represent it really pointed out how beautifully they're relationship did eventually unfold. Zagan and Belial actually had my heart racing when they chased Judal through the streets, by the way, that was just brilliantly written. I can't wait to see what type of Fae Judal turns out to be (though I have my suspicions). Aladdin's introduction was perfect (Judal is my favorite, but I love Aladdin so dearly), and the whole mystery about his wings being hidden is something I am excited to see the answer to. Ugo was a really cool addition to that chapter that I absolutely was not expecting to turn out the way it did. I'm just so very entranced by everything you've woven together, and the trek into the realm of Sidhe has only made me more so. Thank you for such a wonderful story, I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

Honestly, I would be interested in a printed copy of anything you wrote, but Serendipity is one of my absolute favorite stories. I'm not sure I would actually order one though, on account of the fact that I have absolutely no money. It would be amazing if it were to happen though. Good luck!

And the mystery of Judal's nature thickens... I just really love this story, it's one of my absolute favorites! Great work!
Claywind chapter 35 . 1/23/2018
Hakuryuu is distracted. Kouha is to be both blessed and damned. Judal is very distracting like that.
Hakuryuu’s reassuring speech is both inspiring and adorable.

Hey wait… I thought Hakuryuu could do multitasking when sex (and blowjobs) was involved! I call plothole! Okay, no, I’m just messing with you.
Conclusion: training is the mother of improvement.
They seem to be of the mind that they should really train more. Who could blame them?

And... this is the last chapter. I'm up to date! Yay! (now I can focus on my exams without the naggling feeling of "oh my, what happens next... I could go and just read a few more paragraphs, no one would have to know...")
;)

Good luck for the next chapter! I know it's going to be really good, no matter when it comes!
Claywind chapter 34 . 1/23/2018
Judal! Rebellion! happy me!
Raspberries? Is it Kouha? Tell me it’s Kouha!
it was Kouha!

“Unusually good looking for a mortal” sounds like a very back-handed compliment.
“not a hand on my Judal”… my, someone is possessive.
Very amused by Alibaba jokingly asking if Hakuryuu is going to share. Also a bit troubled. Do faes "own" their lovers? Could Hakuryuu give Judal to anyone (without the request or even the fact that he just won't)? Could he, even if Jual does not agree? And if yes, isn't that super messed up?

Also, If Judal’s relooking does not involve arabian-night themed clothing, I… I will pretend it does anyway.
A Cait Sith? Mmmmh… I’m going to assume Judal is a magi. There. Problem solved.
Oh, racism. And it’s… very interesting to hear Kouha speak so openly about his prejudices. Oddlyrefreshing.
Oh gods, I like Kouha.

And waaaaait… there’s entrapping magic in superficial clothes conversation? Damn. Sidhe is messed up.

He’s ditching his shoes! FINALLY, Judal is finally himself in all his bare-footed glory! He only needs more jewellery to be entirely back to normal, now.

I’m very happy about this chapter.
Now I’m waiting for Kougyoku to mention to Hakuryuu that Hakuei cannot be trusted. That should go well.
Right?
Claywind chapter 33 . 1/22/2018
Oh, is that Belial’s point of view? Awesome! I’ll get to learn stuff about him!

Aaand, fluffy wolves. I love you.
Fluffy wolves more perceptive than Belial? Interesting.

I kind of remember a passage at the beginning from Judal’s perspective where he thinks something along the lines of “no one ever expects him to be intelligent”. I wonder if this will play a role at some point.

Mmmh, is Judal some kind of detector-type fae? That’s cool.

“Serendipity and the something else…”
Roll credits?
Okay, it’s official: I have no idea what Serendipity actually means. To online dictionaries I go! Mmmm… basically “good luck in making unexpected and fortunate discoveries.” And suddenly, that conversation between Zagan and Belial makes a lot more sense.

Also, reading your author notes, I feel the need to clarify something:

Don’t feel sorry. We’re not entitled to your story. We’re not entitled to your regular posting schedule. Don’t misunderstand me, I really love to get new chapters often, but I and the rest of your reader have absolutely no place to DEMAND anything from you. (But we are allowed to beg and cajole)

Each and every chapter you write is both a work of art and a very generous gift from you to us. If you decide to drop everything to go llama-riding in Norway, no one has the right to make even the most feeble protest. We will mourn in the waiting time and rejoice when a new chapter is there, but only the most odious fool could dare attempt to give you crap for taking your sweet time.
There.

Now I’m going to go grill myself some fish.

Oh and I'm pretty sure that my next artwork of this (should I ever disappear and feel the need to compensate for it) will invole Judal petting fluffy giant wolves.
Claywind chapter 32 . 1/22/2018
This is going to be dreadfully short compared to my usual reviews.
It was wonderful.
Also, Judal has apparently access to the famed hollywood-trademarked "sexy cry".

I'm also imagining Belial and Zagan rolling eyes at each other with a "they're going to do that every time we stop, aren't they" expression on their faces.

Wonder how long it will take them to reach the rebellion, if they keep getting... distracted along the way.

Can't wait for the part where Hakuryuu introduces Judal to his friends/family/anyone, really

Mmmh, well it wasn't that short a comment, actually.
Claywind chapter 31 . 1/21/2018
Sinbad is destined to be a legend, no matter the setting, it seems.
I’m hoping for more Ja’far.
And definitely more Judal.

Ja’far! Looks like my first wish is granted.
Oh my. You made him badass.
Aaaaand, he’s scolding Sinbad. Yep. That’s Ja’far alright.

I’m still waiting for any mention of Judal. I’m wondering why Hakuryuu doesn’t even think of him once.

Oh. This was… a flashback chapter.
Things make waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more sense.
Claywind chapter 30 . 1/21/2018
Oh, will we finally learn who the Seelie Queen is? My bet is still on Scheherazade, by the way. And the Seelie Prince would be Titus.

Hakuryuu is riding a great silver wolf. What about Judal? Mmmmh… a great walking fish.

It was Zadi! And Titus! I’m so giving myself more biscuits.

Oh and way to build up Matal Mogamett! I was already expecting plot-within-plots and conspiracies with the UnSeelie... and he's dead. Offscreen. Like a loser.
I wonder where Judal is. I was very much expecting to get something from his point of view and how he's adjusting to the Sidhe.

Also the whole encounter with Scheherazade was intense. So many mind games and between-the-lines reading...
(oh and I’m still riding the high of having been right)
Claywind chapter 29 . 1/21/2018
And this chapter begins in all the best ways. With introspective speculations on oneiric symbolism
Looks like Judal can apparently make the mulberry tree obey him. Well, the mulberry tree is a gossip, anyway. It’s also nice to see him contemplating the more mundane repercussions of his choice. What to do with the appartment indeed.

Huh. Is Belial using his necromancy powers to… move Judal’s furniture?
They’re… remodelling his flat? That’s kind of adorable. And weird. But their change in attitude regarding Judal, no matter how sudden, is actually pretty nice. I’m getting the sense that Zagan is racist. Or specieist? As soon as Judal is revealed to be fully non-mortal, he’s alright with him.

Judal makes very valid arguments. And Hakuryuu cannot multitask when sex is involved. Good to know.
In general, I find Judal's lovey-banter with Hakuryuu to be supreme gold.

Ouuuh, serious conversation.
Alibaba’s own vassal… Amon? I’m really, REALLY intrigued by what the magi-canon-djinns are in your setting.
And the storm was their doing! Called it! (I’m giving myself a biscuit)
I was really taken by the breakfast conversation. And Judal’s intervention was way too cool, too.

Judal’s goodbye to his home was… surprisingly emotional. And they're leaving! They're actually leaving!
OH MY GODS ITS HIS FIRST REQUEST! Or wish.

Okay, from now on, I’m assuming that the ritualized speech is as much part of fae instincts as smelling metal is. Speaking of metal, did they think to take the cold iron bolt that had been used against Hakuryuu? It could be a valuable piece of evidence (as well as a very useful weapon against Gyokuen)

And one more freak storm on the city. Poor city.
Great, great, great first arc. I’m all hyped for the next one.
Claywind chapter 28 . 1/21/2018
Finally ! I'm up with the plot again. And let me tell you I enjoyed my rereading thoroughly. Also, on second read, I’m starting to theorize that the freak storm of the previous chapter was caused by Zagan & Belial’s arrival. (By the way, they’re kind of jerks)

I’m really curious as to Hakuryuu’s relationship with Zagan & Belial. How did it come to be that these eminently terrifying and older-than-dirt faes became his vassals? How did he earn their loyalty?
And what does the “heart-beating-in-time-with-his” mean to the faes?
Ok, fine. Belial is kinda cool.

Oh and, Hakuryuu? Hindsight is kind of a bitch.

Poor Judal. He’s had the mother of all shitty days. Sleeping it off sounds like a good idea. I wonder whether he’s a Seelie or an UnSeelie. I’d wager on the last one. I’m also hoping that ice will still be his thing. Because "thalg ar saros" rules.

Also, wow. Nightmares. Body horror? At the very least, much symbolism.
Judal being all blasé about his magic being a decade too late is both funny and terribly sad.

Once again, you show your talent at writing introspective moments. Judal’s rationalisation and explanation of how the loss of one of his basic defining traits affects him is brilliantly done.

And the classic “orphan existential crisis” rears its ugly face. Judal takes it like a sick joke. Good thing Hakuryuu can talk him out of the angst pretty fast. Potential family prospects are always interesting. (I’m harbouring a small hope that Judal is related to Aladdin, or Yunan (or Scheherazade, if she isn’t the Seelie Queen), you know, because of the whole magi-thing from canon)

“Expecting things to make sense was the wrong way to go.” Most assuredly.

And here’s the choice. Stay in the mortal realm while Hakuryuu leaves, or follow his lover and apparently the only thing he wants in life to the Sidhe in order to become properly immortal…
I have an inkling of suspicion about what Judal’s decision is going to be.

Oh gosh, they are so cute. I should be used to it, but nope. Too cute.
And, suspicion confirmed. Yay!

I'm kind of wondering about stuff that Judal may want to do before leaving for good. You have set up that he has no real deep attachment in the mortal world (which is very sad thing in and of itself), but I wonder, will there be things he misses?
What about his grades? Did he get them? What about his appartment? His potted plants? How will the courtyard flourish without regular corpse-feeding?
