I read this about a year and a half ago and loved it( as I do most of your stories). So much so that I just spent 5 days searching AO3 and FF for it after a random comment during the day reminded me of it. Thank you for an awesome fic.

Sakura-sama, Have you ever encountered "The Librarians" television series? It's set after all of the movies, and I am really curious how Chris' effects on the Library might affect it. Between the safeguards he has added himself and the ones unlocked by his very existence as a bonded-to-the-Library Naturally-Magic Librarian, some of the circumstances that form the base origin plot for the series could end up quite different. (Even if a lot of key pieces of things went the same on the foreground, Chris would make rather a lot of shifts in the background. Like certain people being much more certainly Not Dead or even maybe so, because Chris not only has those Draught options he knows how to find the people who used it and fix them, more or less. Flynn's dramas might be very similar to canon, but that just means he still has a lot more to learn about the Library than he realizes most of the time.)
Like being dramatically more capable of knowing what to do about the Library shifting out-of-dimension, how to access the Annexes, chasing down more of the assorted magical issues like Flynn is usually away from the Annex the cast mostly operate out of to deal with...
Or what I especially want to see, Chris' own "team" of helpers interacting with the series' cast - the Snarts and Mick, mostly. *evil grin* One of the baby Librarians that gets tangled up in the pilot mess and recruited /is/ quite the impressive young thief, albeit more tech oriented than the Snarts. He'd probably recognize Team Chris by their underground reps if not on sight at first. Eliot is a massive art/history nerd with accreditation so he'd probably recognize some of Chris' reps within those circles, like how he can effectively fence the non-Library loot so well even if he doesn't know the part where it's basically fencing loot rather than sharing the lesser collectibles from legit digs and such.
And since one of their major mentoring things is looking up to an older and more settled/experienced Flynn Carson, having the better of even Flynn's predecessors cropping up often to school him on something or keep in touch on managing the myriad major crises could be delightfully hilarious.
Also, Chris' team just plain showing up the rookies entirely in the sheer volume of work accomplished in the same amount of time, reminding them that while they are Good, they are rookies and have a long way to possibly improve.
One of the side-effects of the pilot and baseline plot is a massive influx of magic around the world, stirring up Problems and artifacts and such pretty much Everywhere. Chris has the knowledge and contacts to make quite a dent in the severity of some of the potential background damage just by tapping the magical enclaves' side of things, both to explain some of the cause of what's happening and to warn them of the troubles so they can do a lot of the policing of the issues themselves without as much last-second scrambling. He also has a Lot more experience than even older-Flynn, and more options. So while Flynn is part-time trying to figure out how to deal with the sudden shift in the Library and part-time mentoring the baby-Librarians, Chris could be most-of-the-time running around the world putting out metaphorical fires, keeping things from getting completely out of hand as it probably should have been in the background of the series considering how much time between notices of a new issue they often had (weekly serial format, though they /did/ often reference things happening offscreen to make it less "perfectly scheduled" seeming). And with such an excellent excuse to hire his friends and girlfriend as full-timers, they will be getting a lot of entertaining activity, good pay, and even good karma, with some added entertainment of occasionally hazing the rookies. Add in free access to a lot of very secure safehouses, even if they still aren't allowed in the Annexes unsupervised, and it really is a great gig for them. Lots of interesting challenges, lots of chances to utterly trash assholes causing trouble, good company.
And if Chris gets his Speed working again, they can even still get some break time away from each other fairly easily, especially with magical options to enhance their travel options. (Assuming the sudden major influx doesn't mess with such things too much.) He can handle some of the less heist-like and less-opposition-cluttered cases solo, or pester his kohai's minions. Or outright hijack them for a bit. Or take a break himself - he certainly ought to have a healthier work-nonwork balance than Flynn, all things considered. Even if sometimes that means he's just dropping in to check on the rookies in one Annex or other Library minions elsewhere for a bit without an active case to go out for and calling it his "break".
Also, he does have a girlfriend to take out on dates. One who is informed enough to avoid some of the troubles Flynn has in that area and accustomed to working with him for short bursts rather than trying to circle each other 24/7 which was part of the problems with one of Flynn's closest-to-almost-successful relationships. So the progression from intermittent trusted coworkers to dating and only after that's well settled /then/ getting caught up in much more frequent co-working as well will probably go a lot better for them.
I can see very pleasing things as possible ways the interactions between an older, more settled-in-himself (and the Library) Flynn and Chris - especially with the way Excalibur adopted Flynn so much like how Cal adopted Chris. Chris might legally be younger but he'd totally be the more experienced Big Brother who loves to tease and poke at his Little Brother, teaching him important stuff and helping him figure things out but also letting them both do their own things, mostly, and showing him up in at least small ways often enough to make sure Flynn doesn't forget who has seniority. Not necessarily intentionally either - some of that just comes with being more experienced and having more information about things, and Flynn would happily poke him back, eventually, once he has adapted enough to have maybe picked up some bits here and there Chris may not have, or forgot amid the massive amount of things he's read. Debates between the pair of them could be Highly Educational for anyone with the slightest doubt about either Librarian's knowledge or competence, though sparring with their brother-swords would probably need to be included if the doubts are about their ability to be more than a walking encyclopedia that needs bodyguards to Not Die.
(They may not ever be quite as close as brothers, but I can see that flavor to their relationship developing after enough time and interactions if they actually do start interacting more as the time passes. The series starts like fifteen to twenty years after Flynn was first tapped as a Librarian, after all, and not many people out there can understand certain kinds of Librarian things even of some of each of theirs won't overlap. Like the nature of their respective interpersonal awkwardnesses, and some of their areas of primary expertise. And their near-entire personal lives.)
