| Zeromaru Chaos Mode chapter 12 . 11/7/2020
Damn, its a total Shirou VS Archer deal.
With the worst part being that "Shirou" in this scenario, isnt even against what "Archer" is, but just wants to add to what his current future self could be.
Kids are foolish but Adults are stupid. Getting a kid to evolve isnt so difficult, just gotta think like a kid, while an Adult is always trying to lock themselves in their ways, concerned about superiority.
Always thought Gohan would have been incredible with a properly balanced lifestyle...not constantly going between extremes...
| Scissors Dolphin chapter 4 . 7/20/2020
Chi chi is unbelievably delusional in this. Gohan feels useless because he is not a fighter. She twists this and paints the narrative that he should never have been taught a fighter.
No! He is disappointed in his future self because he did not become a fighter. Being a fighter is who he wants to be. He is disappointed in his future self who did not accomplish his dream; his future self is not who he wished to be. His future self is a disappointment.
Being a fighter is who he is. It's part of him. Chichi does not get to act as if teaching him martial arts twisted his values. As if Goku and his friends were wrong to let him join him. Goku is his father. It's only natural that the father passes down some of his passion to his son.
Learning a little martial art will not twist Gohan into some delinquent who only values fighting. Chichi didn't want to teach Gohan martial arts because she wanted to control him. She wanted to force her dreams onto Gohan. She wanted to twist him into something that only values academics.
Gohan is disappointed because he is not a fighter. He would be similarly disappointed if he never got to be a scholar. The correct thing to do is to help Gohan become a fighter, so he can satisfy his dream, not to twist his values so he believes fighting is not important.
Gohan feels he is useless in the future because he lacks fighting abilities. His belief is not wrong. He does not suffer from confidence issues. His beliefs were not forced upon him by his father. It's his future self that is problematic. It's Chi-chi that forced her dreams upon his future self, making past Gohan feel depressed about the future.

God, Chi chi is so annoying. She is a terrible mother, but she tries to act as if letting him practice martial arts is bad.

"You're one to talk, Vegeta." For once, I have to agree with Adult Gohan... even though he's more of a whiny bitch than Vegeta.
