Reviews for A Fake Hero |

![]() ![]() ![]() Nice to see a new story from you. I saw a few typos here and there, but overall good work. Keep it up good sir! |
![]() ![]() does this shirou have Avalon? if he does how will this affect his devil powers? |
![]() ![]() ![]() As refreshing as the concept is, the last thing I want to read in a fic of this sort is for Shirou or even Issei to become a devil, if that is how the fic direction is going then I would probably not continue to read it Nice to see you continuing though, hopefully your 'Crimson youkai' fic would be more to my taste as you update |
![]() ![]() ![]() Not sure what back story you’re going to create for him, but as Shirou is now he seems a bit weak minded compared to the main routes. People complaining about him being a devil and no longer able to project holy weapons look at Xenovia. I'm assuming the voice that Shirou heard was EMIYA, and due to them being the same person a 100% install rate happened which in turned will lead to a bleeding over affect. Now, assuming I am correct, will this affect base Shirou personality later? Now that Shirou has the body of a devil will he have the power to project Ea at a downgraded form and/or project Noble Phantasm to their fullest? I’m asking because human installed Shirou projected divine weapons. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Yo~ Welcome back man, when's the next one? D |
![]() ![]() ![]() i swear if it's Rias i will curse you to continue the old version (Guardian of DxD) cuz frankly if it's Rias you kill this story |
![]() ![]() ![]() buen fanfic-good fanfic |
![]() ![]() So kiritsugu is alive in the DxD world? I feel sorry for the villains there |
![]() ![]() ![]() I hopenthatvit wasn't rias who reincarnated him. It's kinda cliche and when she reincarnated people in crossovers the story pretty much just follows the light novels with no real subplots or original ideas by the author. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well first comments on the remake. It's good. You've cut down on a lot of unnecessary stuff which has quite helped. I'll be honest, I never liked the way you brought in Illya and the other Shirou in the other story and how you dealt with it. It never seemed right, plus now seeing what you wanted it was a massive divergence from the main story for that. Here, you kind of have those aspects and having the two worlds fused from the start really can help negate problems that occur at times with stories where only one character or two are pulled over. Writing as well flows well. It's clear, it's well written, not much to say really. To be honest I typically just care that it's proper English but yours is definitely one of the better ones out there in terms of writing. As for the chapter itself on its own, I like the choice of Shirou here. It really feels like a Shirou here, the one exception being that he doesn't have his usual dream. But then that is exactly what the Shirou of Prisma is meant to be like. Kiritsuga never had to pass on his dream in his broken state. But at the same time Shirou was still broken himself. I assume that that Shirou must have still seen Kiritsuga's smile, been influenced by it, but never learned of the dream that would go along with it and thus drifted aimlessly. As for friends here, he's got as many as you would expect. His Issei is gone which is a shame but then it would get confusing with the other Issei around. There's also Sona as a book friend and then Ayako who can be considered his most normal friend (whom I'm assuming has a crush on him somewhat by her early interactions) and the one most worried about him out of that lot. Next up, using the Archer card. I see you took inspiration from the Miyuverse Shirou there and it really is a good ground for building him up. The problem with a lot of stories that want to use Shirou is that he learned a lot from Archer and from fighting Heroic Spirits. In UBW he gained most of his Noble Phantasms from Gilgamesh and the whole issue with his Reality Marble is difficult to do without Archer in the first place. Then we got all Prisma chapters with the Archer card, the fake card as others called it. The card itself is weaker than a heroic spirit from what I know, only really containing portions of their true power, but it still allows one to fight on a far greater level than before. And those are normal people. But for Shirou, it's vastly different. He uses himself, or rather the heroic spirit he can become and always has the potential to be. So for him, using the card allows substituting the whole grail war mess because he can learn from the card, and eventually even surpass the card (I'm under the assumption that the card itself does not really contain Unlimited Blade Works since it's doubtful that a normal person would ever survive invoking such a skill if that was the case. Reality marbles are tricky business when it's the user's soul, not when you have one soul overlapping another. It would probably end up with the host being destroyed by the reality marble in a fashion when Shirou had Archer's arm trying to invade his body with its UBW.). So long story short, this works brilliantly for the direction I assume you want to take this story in. He has a way to learn his abilities without the need of bringing in many external factors and has plenty of room to grow, especially as he gained more and more access to the power in the card and eventually doesn't need to use it. On a final point, the devil that was summoned. Since it was done from his point of view, we technically don't know who it is. The obvious answer would be Rias but you have me suspicious with your author's note and the fact you never had any factor of her revealed beyond that she was female. It's definitely one with the ability to resurrect, meaning a king, but part of me is wondering if it might be Sona instead. I'm mainly considering that because I'm unsure of what piece Shirou would be too, and being a normal pawn for Rias means that Issei can't actually be resurrected without all 8 due to Boosted Gear. I'll be honest, I prefer him as human, but I'm going to be watching this closely anyway. As a devil it does solve the one major issue which is always magic capacity. There's no guarantee there is a holy grail here to support him with energy so being a devil would allow him much easier access to his noble phantasms. Speaking of which, I really look forward to when you get to the Excalibur arc. This is a new Emiya that has never dealt with Arturia before and will only know stuff about the blades through seeing their history through tracing and maybe glimpsing something from the Excalibur Image that certain Archers have. Either way, good story. I look forward to more and hopefully soon. This is what you get for leaving the first chapter on such a good cliffhanger. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I really enjoyed Guardian of DXD, so while I understood why you stopped it, I was slightly saddened by it's termination. But so far, this is an interesting replacement. Of course Shirou would be very in tune with the Archer card. And quite honestly, while it's probably Rias, I'm actually curious if the book couldn't have acted as a catalyst instead, summoning Sona to deal with this instead. It'd be rather interesting. |
![]() ![]() ![]() *sigh* You now I was really excited but you turned shirou into a devil, there is not enough story where a human without sacred gear kick some ass, and please do not nerf shirou dxd is still in the age of gods so his projection should become true kind like in Representation of Humanity. oh and remember with the cards he absorb Emiya to become a "true imitation of a heroic spirit" so he can potentially have the same stats as Emiya. And if you want to keep him as a human (please) maybe Avalon can reject the evil piece? And I don't know if you know this too many author forget about it, everytime shirou trace a weapon he gains the physical abilities as well (see HF shirou vs Berserker) so he can become a tank if needed |
![]() ![]() ![]() Its an interesting story and good start but its kinda, I dunno difficult to swybut I always like fabric with fate dxd crossover mostly when a shirou shows his skills and doesn't become a devil and show everyone his abilities which shocks them in how skilled he is separate from kiba in skill and power on his own as a human is always interesting andi hardly see those or people don't ever update fics about them a shirou never introduced to tracing turns into devil I gst, first time into using tracing I get turn into devil by death, I get, wins and used tracing wins I get, I get it and I love it I just hardly ever see a fic that just shows shirou as a singular skilled hero and chose to become a devil by his own free will as alive, and it becomes interesting if saber and Excalibur appearance happened and ubw, but anyway keep up the good work and take good job |
![]() ![]() ![]() At first, the thought of Kalied Shirou becoming a devil didn't sit right with me. But the more I thought about it the more you could deviate from the DxD Servant norm. Kiritsugu WILL be mad once he learns what Shirou is. Whoever resurrected Shirou basically turned him into a Dead Apostle in terms of everything except Vampirism. BUT you have a story with both class cards AND evil piece in Shirou's possession. You should have the Evil Piece react to the Class Card and figure out a way for the card to be embedded into Shirou's body, creating a unique situation. Similar to how Kuro can go to Class Card Servant to regular girl. Shirou should be able to switch from Human to Class Card Servant to Devil anytime he pleases. This would make Kiritsugu see it as more of a Job Contract and less of a Lifetime slave to a Devil. And would calm him down. |
![]() ![]() ![]() As much as I wanted Guardians of DxD finished and remastered, I guess I'll settle on this little adventure 'till it ends. Though I can see a lot of potential of this and the Shirou your using, him being an even greater EMIYA is debatable. Sure, hero and reputation wise sure but power and weaponry and that, that's a touchy subject. Anyway, keep it up. I'll be sure to drop in from time to time. |
