Lovely story. It's great to see the variety of relationships you have introduced, and especially that they are complex things. Plus points as well for avoiding bashing and keeping the grays, not just the blacks and whites in all situations. The looting of magic books leading to learning runes for shirou also seems like something from dungeons and dragons, and is quite the interesting shift in focus for his abilities.

All in all a fresh wind in many ways, and I look forward to seeing mysteries reveled, relationships deepenefyand plot lines developed!

I have to say, as long apart as the updates are, you certainly manage the in story pacing well. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone go from Riser’s introduction to the Rating Game being over in a single chapter. And you even managed to do it in a controlled, satisfying way without having to rehash the parts that repeated cannon.
I have seen some works that have a more likable Riser before, but I can’t think of any that dived quite so much into his motivation before. You can look at A Demon Lord’s Hero if you want to see him being the same familiar leech, but showing a more affable attitude in less public settings.
And good job tying Riser’s character development into the story of how Iri got better. Very effective two birds with one stone.
So I’m a bit surprised no one seemed to tip Rias off to the fact her contract could be annulled in a month due to the changing laws. If she had even just called Sirzechs to confirm the political landscape he would likely have tried to move it along faster. Or I guess given he knows how unhappy Rias is he may have already been doing that. Hmm, there’s a thought; without knowing that the marriage date would get moved regardless from cannon knowledge, I wonder if Sirzechs did do something to encourage the law and now blames himself for robbing Rias of years of happiness in college.
I have to admit, I am glad that we’ll likely be seeing the end of this arc in the next chapter though. I’m so stoked for the Excalibur arc. I wonder what Archer’s reaction would be to seeing it broken. I’m thinking indignation and incoherent rage.

Hello again I was reading through some of favorite stories and found that the author is still not around since like the end of May I hope that they are doing okay and will return soon. I have read a good story called Fake x Fate by kyugan. It pretty good although I am upset that so far it also hasn't been updated in a while.

If I had to give my honest opinion of the story so far, I’d say…

It’s good. Now, I will say this, I like the “Guardian of DXD” story Shiro, but this one is also good. I also liked how you made Phoenix more relatable and likeable based off of what I’ve seen. (I’ve only watched an edited version of S1 so please no haters) And I am curious on how this arc will end. Personally, I can’t wait to see if you bring in Illiya series for some insanity, and the Excalibur arc. Because I LOVED, again, LOVED, how you handled it in the other story. Now, do I see that happening here, sadly no, not without something BIG happening. And I also want to see Shiro’s reaction to his Ramen buddy being the White Dragon Emperor. And bringing back the joke he used in his thoughts earlier on in the story.

Now, when it comes to this, I kinda hope we get Shiro X Harem, but I don’t think you’ll do it.

On top of all of this, I need anyone reading this, even the author, to do me these following things…
1. Stay safe.
2. Have fun.

So I just re-read this story again and I’m going to commemorate that by making a totally out of nowhere prediction that Riser’s going to be the bigger man and peacefully break off his engagement with Rias. This version of Riser doesn’t seem to be someone who would be willing to, or even want to, be stuck in a loveless marriage. And yes, there will be some fallout from the traditionalists who’ll think he’s an idiot, but the fact that he won the rating game means that he was the one in control of all this, so he’ll win some points with the modern faction.

I know this is a bit of a wild theory, but it would be an interesting way to resolve things that might even open up the avenue of Riser being a reoccurring character.
