| PGHammer chapter 1 . 6/21/2022 For those objecting to the sub-twenty age of consent, that is a RECENT development (actually, as late as 1980) in the UK, and even later in the US: in 1979, when I reached the age of consent (US) I was 18 - and voted in my first Presidential election (for Reagan) a year later. The story itself points to the reason for the law itself: Magical Britain needs a baby boom - that means the baby production starts at an earlier age. How early? Biology dictates that - typically 14 (wizarding and non-wizarding alike). Magic also throw in a longer (not shorter) run of child production of children for magicals compared to non-magicals. The objections looks like an attempt to skew things politically - which makes no sense. |
