I understand, and as a trans person I've divested myself of rowling and the canon stories years ago. I focus on the community and how writers like you improve the world, the story with 'fuck you's to her. Just the thought of her knowing that her 'baby' as it were is used to affirm trans kids and trans people in general brings a warmth to my cold shriveled heart lol. At the very least let someone take over from what you have already?

You know, it's fanfic, so yes, it's frustrating when a work isn't finished, but it's meant to be a pleasure.

I hope you'll love again Harry Potter one day. As for me I don't care what Rowling think about the world and his people, she wrote an awesome story which I grow up with, but it's not her world anymore: fan fiction authors have build magical worlds that are so much more than what she imagined. It's ours now. Harry Potter is so much more than Rowling; now it's like the stories with Ullysses (don't know how you tell "Odyssée" in English). She sure deserved the money for writing Harry Potter, but now it's property of all humans as far as I'm concerned. Rowling's just an author, with prejudices from her generation and life. To be fair it sucks to be a public person, and I'm pretty sure if she meet some transgender people and educated herself on the topic she would change her mind. But if not I don't care: she's just someone, not a godness. She never interested me.
And frankly I love her story but it has so much potential she didn't even touched...
Anyway thank you again !

Im so happy this existed. I'm glad that you've gotten to a better place in your life; your stories helped me do that for myself in so many small ways, and to become more fully myself. Thanks for sharing all of this with us, it clearly was no small task. And thanks for saying goodbye, cause its nice to say goodbye back. I hope you find something else that captures you deep in your heart the way Harry Potter did; you're an absolutely terrific writer and you've elevated the source material with your passion. JK Rowling becoming a more and more open TERF hurt me too, made me ashamed of a (problematic and on reflection, mediocre) book series that is intrinsically tied to some of the only happy childhood memories I have. Not to mention how her words and actions have increased my concern for my trans, non-binary, and disabled friends in the UK. Works like yours continue to give me the space to return to beloved characters without the baggage.

Thanks for making me cry a bunch.
