Great chapter. I'm loving more Luna in there. She's been a delight. I for one enjoy Ron not being the butt of every fraking joke. I thought Ron was a great character (until they all got a big case of the dumbs in book 7 and didn't realize that Ron was becoming an intolerable ass because of the amulet. D'uh.) who deserves better treatment than the fan base gives him. Which is why I don't read much HP fanfic. Harry wanting to pick up some medical magic makes a lot of sense, as is his drive to set things up so that next year he won't have any madness to worry about. Although, given his track record, I'd think he'd be anticipating that somehow he'll be in the TWT, if he likes it or not. This take on Potter seems like the sort who would just anticipate that at some level.

And don't out of hand dismiss all gun control arguments. There are plenty of measured and sane gun control advocates that want to strike a balance between the Second Amendment and attempting to curb gun violence through restricted access. (Since any more profound changes in culture, health care, training, etc are far too big for the body politic to want to deal with, so you go for what you can. You know, for the children...) ;)

Ron's always been my favorite character, so it's nice to see a fic where he isn't being horribly raped by the author.

Nice chapter. I really enjoyed hearing about Harry trying and failing to kill the skrewts.

When the names are drawn I expect that the Quartet will have gained some speed in the save harry from death campaign and will at that point know exactly where to focus their efforts
