I had second thoughts about the whole thing right there as well. Of course, it is a kid's book and I'd tear the Ministry to pieces in court if it went that far. I'm not even a lawyer. :)

Great story, but actually, it was Harry, not Hermione who figured out that Fluffy was guarding what was taken from vault 713. Hermione, not being friends with Harry yet, didn't even know about it.

interesting. however, after book 3, this story will substantially diverge from the books, thus causing something of a paradox. Of course, it's also alternative universe theory (aka M theory), so it could be made plausible, although it might cause many of the characters to be confused, unless grangers character susses it out as originating from an alternate universe in which magic technically does not exist. certainly makes things a bit more interesting. :)

I feel so sorry for Harry but I can’t deny I’m also taking great pleasure in reading this.

Just felt like I needed to say this, but the protections on the doors were NOT remotely weak enough for first years to get through.
They got lucky that Hermione knew the bluebell flame spell, which no other student in Hogwarts used or even knew of. She only knew it because she searched for it.
The key room was in place before Harry ever rode a broom. It was most certainly not intended for anyone who wasn’t an expert seeker or powerful wizard to get through and nobody knew Harry was a good Quidditch player at the time.
Chess? Really? Especially one set up by an adult. There is no reasonable expectation for any first year to beat it. That’s just absurd. They got lucky once again.
The troll. A full grown one that certainly wouldn’t have gone down to first years and was set up before the troll incident on Halloween.
The potion problem was actually difficult and it’s silly to think a first year could solve it. They got LUCKY that Hermione is literally a genius.
Don’t forget, all of these protections were set up before any of the trio could show their specialties

This story has its flaws, especially at how frequently the bitch demands the arrests of Harry and co, but if it's making me angry, that means I am enjoying it.
