![]() ![]() Why would her name be reviled and mocked? |
![]() ![]() ![]() I loved this story so much! I love how we had so many new characters and still not once I felt lost - you worked beautifully with all of them. The Luke/Leia scenes were probably my favorite, I love how you write their relationship! |
![]() ![]() the federico bit made me laugh |
![]() ![]() ![]() "And 'cause I love you, Leia, a lot more than you can handle, and it's got to go somewhere, and I want," he paused, sliding is hand through his hair roughly and breathing out harshly, "I want to feel that way about more of you. Little versions of you," he muttered." This was so sweet and beautiful. What a great ending to an intense cbapter. You are so talented. Thanks! |

![]() ![]() ![]() I just discovered this absolutely epic corker of a SW fic and it is beyond BRILLIANT! You have such a wonderful voice and a mastery over conversational dialogue. These characters - ALL OF THEM - jumped out of my screen as I was reading. Several times I got goosebumps because I felt like I was watching this all play out in real time rather than reading a fanfic. I must admit that I am particularly biased towards anything to do with the Anakin/Padme relationship - good, bad, or indifferent. I know the A/P arc - especially prequel era - is viewed with ridicule at best, hostility at worst, but I have had this seriously detrimental fascination with their story ever since the release of The Phantom Menace in 1999. I think you have managed to create an AU scenario that is not only well constructed, but so painfully real! The way you fleshed out not only the Naberrie family members but also their quiet resilience, their turmoil over the truth, and their sincere happy memories struck a chord in me. I always thought Padme and her family really got the short end of the deal in this whole narrative - especially considering that it was her relationship with Anakin (I'm oversimplifying for dramatic effect here) was essentially at the center of his downfall and the rise of the Empire. I also refuse to believe that Padme kept her relationship secret from her own family - I sometimes write A/P stuff and I have tried to flesh out scenarios where it's all one gigantic secret - the plot never tracks though. I mean, how could she keep if from Sola, who in the novel and deleted scenes (damn you George!) of AOTC all but ENCOURAGED their relationship. But I digress... I think my favorite favorite moments were Jobal relaying her late daughter's birthday wish in the middle of a battle to Luke (I just felt like this was so in character for Padme with a touch of Anakin's influence) and Sola remembering A/P fights that were resolved after they "disappeared" for an hour. And I LOVED your nickname for Padme - Me-Me! Ok focus, next topic of flattery - Your. Characterization. Of. Leia. Is. Phenomenal! I don't know if you have intentionally written her this way but she reads like this beautiful blend of Anakin and Padme. She has Padme's cool head and prevailing wisdom at times but also this great volatility emotionally speaking that I have to believe is from Anakin. It's ironic to me that her deep emotional reactions to the Vader-Anakin story were probably bestowed on her by her biological father himself - obviously from the abuse she suffered at his hands on the Death Star but also the personality she probably inherited. I have read several characterizations of her written by fanfic authors AND published novelists and yours is by far the BEST and my FAVORITE! Next - your handling of Anakin in general - his story, his fall, his Force specter. How do you balance the beauty and the tragedy so well? Massive kudos to you. I find that most people can capture the "hero" or the "villian" but rarely can blend them so seamlessly as you have. I simultaneously loved your narrative and hated your narrative for his penance as a Force specter. Loved because it was so epically tragic and his interaction with Leia so poignant. Hated it because his admittance that he wasn't with Padme GUTTED me - but was obviously so correct and left me with a little hope that maybe one day they could be reunited - AHHH see so DETRIMENTAL! Anyways, this review has gotten seriously out of hand but you so deserve all this fanfare and more. Thank you so much for sharing this story with us! I will definitely favorite this work and will check out your others. If you ever felt so inclined, I think you could write a KICKASS Padme and if you ever did dabble in the Prequel Universe, I would probably die of sheer happiness. Part of me would love to see something that captures her love and exasperation with Anakin - I'm sure she experienced many of these moments. Until then, thank you thank you thank you again! |
![]() ![]() ![]() i love the identity series in it's entirety, and i think that it's brilliant, but i feel like every time i read a new story from the identity verse, i always end up saying that "oh this is the most brilliant out of all your stories" and i'm here to say it now for "the naberries". the detail you put into these, the characterization, is just unfathomable. you bring life to characters that already existed but was never fleshed out in the sw universe, and make it feel as if they had always been there, and that this was the natural order of things. |
![]() ![]() ![]() There are so many good things in this chapter - but I still kind of wish you'd made it two. I'd like to see more of what was in that trunk, and how Leia (and Luke of course) felt, seeing holos of Padme for the first time. |
![]() ![]() I just reread this (working my way through the series again). The humanity you instill in each character is remarkable. They are so dimensional, and I feel as if I know them all personally. They are constantly in my mind |
![]() ![]() ![]() Please please please continue writing stories for the Identity 'verse! I absolutely love it! |
