![]() ![]() ![]() My headcanon that all wielders of Divine Dividing and Boosted Gears are perverts obsessed with hips or boobs is just further enforced by this chapter. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Good until chap 30 or so, then I started getting exhausted by the pacing and all. Good grammar though! It's difficult for most authors to write good romance though so I may be better off just avoiding those. Then again, it's a harem fic. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Holy shit. |
![]() ![]() You know... about ten to fifteen years time into the future (around their official 'adulthood') and I like to fantasise Minato Arisato/Thanatos and co to be forming their own version of Final Fantasy XV's Crownsguard/Kingsglaive/Royal Guard - a quick reaction force (QRF), complete with stylish 'velvet blue' combat uniforms! (AND with all the 'Magitek' works to go with it...) / From Chapter 42: [...] Minato [...] is focusing on gaining as much offensive power as he can and amassing his own 'Strike Force', so to speak, as a foil to what would have eventually become the DxD team. From the Wiki: DxD is a team formed to combat Rizevim Livan Lucifer and the Khaos Brigade. In the aftermath of Rizevim's death and the end of the Evil Dragon War, DxD has been reorganised into a peacekeeping force to defend the mythological world from those who would threaten the balance of the world [...]. / Plus, for FUN, if Salem's Inner Circle brought forth their problems by 'accident' into the reality/universe/world of DxD, I can imagine them being on the receiving end of a 'Curb-Stomp Battle' or 'Mugging the Monster' situation that would make Starlight's Poet's "Chaldea in Remnant" or even KtyouVsWriting's "Mongrel Mania" rather 'benevolent' in comparison... As a great big 'fuck you', I imagine the entire 'military might' of Team DxD ends up annexing/conquering Remnant in either months, weeks or even days... all because they arrogantly 'fucked' with the wrong people. The final nail in the coffin would be Remnant finally prospering, free of the Grimm... under the unconditional protection of the 'Gods' we know and love... (and Ozma and Salem finally free from their curse of immortality because we know that our Death God isn't THAT cruel...) [Sorry if this came off as a rant to RWBY in general, but I've had cynical doubts/losses of 'faith' with the overall plot of RWBY come Volume 6/7. Though I have... 'relished' some stories where some writers become a little 'iconoclastic', for lack of a better term, such as TheManThatWalksTheAbyss115's "Wolves That Walk Alone".] / Of course, the BOTTOM LINE is that this is all just speculation crammed into one review, meant for 'fun' spin-off stories. From your Fifth Update under your bio, I say 'Get Well Soon' Abel, and have a nice day. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I wonder when he'll notice he's not as apathetic or composed as he used to be. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Story seems very interesting. Reading more. |
![]() ![]() Minato needs high tier boss, not these mooks. |
![]() ![]() ![]() If you're still on the site, please update soon. |
![]() ![]() You know, this story’s come a rather long way... but in recent chapters, I think some antagonists might have their ‘reign’ ended a bit too early. Don’t get me wrong, some sick arrogant fuckos were cut down the moment they reared their ugly mugs (Freed Sellzen, Rizevim Livan Lucifer, Diodora Astaroth) and considering their transgressions (canon and/or fanon) this brought about much welcomed ‘catharsis’. Other cases where it took some time (and perhaps some world-building, combined with long-lasting grudges and ‘personal’ motives for doing so) before the antagonist was ultimately faced, fought in a climatic battle, and ultimately defeated (pretty much Hades, as of this chapter)... I’d say it was pretty much appropriately done. [If anyone wishes to disprove me of this notion, they are welcome to do so, provided they include sound reasoning to their arguments.] However, what about the other antagonists? The Hero Faction (debuting in their assault on Asgard) may have gotten a thorough beatdown from our Death God protagonist and allies (and escapes with their tails tucked between their legs), but Cao Cao’s ‘death’ (subjugation by Deus/YHVH) may have come off as ‘too soon’. Is he truly dead? Or is he still alive in an ‘And I Must Scream’ sort of situation? If it’s the latter, I can imagine his fate to be similar to Megatron possessed by Unicron in “Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising”. IF you were to explore this route, Minato could re-encounter Cao Cao’s badly-tortured soul, broken from the harsh reality of his goals (before a mercy kill is in order...) Plus, there’s also the other members of the Hero Faction to consider (namely, Georg, Jeanne, Heracles and Leonardo; Siegfried, if I’m reading the canon and this story correctly, isn’t much of a threat and has been ‘neutralized’ - pretty much a ‘Memetic Loser’ if it wasn’t for his swordsmanship). But the ‘unceremonious extermination’ of the Greek Pantheon is an even bigger waste in my opinion, if only for the fact that we won’t read about an opportunity to kick Zeus’ ass, who as I recall was THAT MUCH of a HYPOCRITICAL BASTARD (in and out, all media and original myth!)... maybe Deus/YHVH manages to claim their souls as pawns after Minato’s deicide, and warps them into Megami Tensei bonus bosses? But then again, I don’t know much about what makes a ‘good’ story, and even that depends on what type of story is being written. Here’s hoping you’re coping in spite of the dark times brought about by the coronavirus pandemic. ¡YUUW4KU! Hero Faction Tropes - Humans Are Bastards: Definitely fits within the core group members. - Knight Templar: They seem to genuinely believe that killing gods and monsters are for a good cause. - Never My Fault: Whenever they're called out on their actions, or the consequences, they couldn't care less. Cao Cao is especially guilty of this. - Undying Loyalty: When they're not Brainwashed and Crazy, Cao Cao's willing to let other Sacred Gear human users join him for his cause. They do follow him all the way through to the end as shown by the Mook Issei encountered. - The Unfettered: Has been shown to go absurd lengths to accomplish their goals. - Unwitting Pawn: They all get tricked by Hades. - Well-Intentioned Extremist: The only reason why they even formed the group was because the humans are the ones who get affected the most when three factions who have been going on a war with each other for a long time suddenly had a Peace Conference and created The Alliance. Cao Cao Tropes - Blood Knight: Clearly enjoys fighting tough opponents like Issei, but is more composed than other examples. Issei even compares him to a calmer version of Vali. When one of the members of Khaos Brigade showed him of an alternate world at peace, he found it boring. - Glory Seeker: In addition to his Blood Knight tendencies, he wants to be remembered as a hero who accomplished mighty deeds, and thinks being named if not descended from an actual famous hero pretty much grants him the title as long as he performs "accomplishments," ie, significant military victories. He is suitably crushed when he's informed that the title of "hero" is not something you can give yourself, and even being from a proud heroic bloodline won't cut it. The society you live in has to judge your deeds heroic by its own standards. - Heroic Wannabe: He will do anything, and we mean anything he thinks will grant him the title of "hero." He cares not one whit about the morality of his actions, and there doesn't exist a single crime he will shy away from. Even after he's informed that gaining the "Hero" title he so covets is impossible, due to his own actions being considered nothing but villainous, he isn't shaken for very long... |
![]() ![]() ![]() I think a mostly loli harem sounds adorable and there are plenty of them though ravel quickly grows out of most of her early loliness but that still leaves a fox loli. There are too many interesting characters that could bring expanded upon in dxd for it to be only loli though. Mostly loli with a bit of the other spectrum seems the best way to go. Our death wielding mc has a lot of interesting maneuvering when it comes to making bonds with others so I love the idea of seeing who ends up chasing him. Even if we get rid of meta stuff we readers know about dxd, there is still the fact that having a harem is fairly common for this world as long as you have power AND the low population in various areas encourage lots of breeding to happen so we really are at the edge of the true nonsense concerning romance haha. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Also you said he was gods equal and now he struggles against one of his angels? Really? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Why the hell doesn’t he use his personas they should be his first instinct |
![]() ![]() ![]() Huh. To be honest, I’d stopped thinking of this as a Persona crossover so long ago that it was genuinely kinda jarring when Minato actually summoned one. |
![]() ![]() ![]() this a good story. I cant wait for what comes next. will minato reunite with this S.E.E.S friends? |
![]() ![]() ![]() I finally understood, Minato's initial weakness with Donahseek came from being caught offguard by the unexpected battle As time goes he 'wakes up' like a character whose level had been set low in the tutorial but finally reached a point of loading the save file from the past game in the current one The fact that Thanatos is apparently bleeding his 'divinity' in Minato may have helped his OPness P.S. i find that i may not like Issei for i find absolutely no problem with Minato getting (most of) the harem |
