It it is good to know that you are busy instead of unwell, so welcome back anyways.
I enjoy Amber's interactions with Shockwave, knowing that despite him being firm, there is a small giving in as his now organic soul continues to develop around this world even as he notices his emotions minutely slip out.
I do think that what Amber is trying to do is to ease whatever harm Shockwave may do by trying to, for lack of a better word, "seduce" him in a smart and slow manner in order to have more influence with his decision-making, however futile that may seem.
The only military strength of Atlas that survived would have been those far enough from the blast, but they would have been above Atlas' floating height anyway, and the fleets still afloat and away with few proper if any supply and maintenance facilities. Not to mention the dust mines.
I do hope to see some machines of Shockwave's design to be made to combat the Grimm in support of the rest. This is reminding me of Mongrel Mania, they will have to run the gauntlet again as the Grimm attack.

I'm starting to think that this Shockwave is a POS but that he's also like The Mittani from Eve Online (yes that player was, in terms of strategy, as cold and logical as Shockwave is) which means that, if he's going to H3LL, he's not going there to be punished... oh no, he's going there and he's going to RULE H3LL! and considering Shockwave was always a bad guy I can safely say you've created one of the best Villain-Protagonists I've seen in a fanfic ever. Arguably the best.

I have to say that while I completely approve of the idea of Shockwave not telling anyone about his past, it would be nice if one person knew, like Amber. This would put her in a position where she understands who she is in contact with and cannot do anything.

Ok, first off, so I'm not the only who figured that was the King's weakness in regards to respawns.

Also, I'd assume that'd be more terror and despair from the faculty and studentd given Atlas' fall, especially from Weiss. However, I'll excuse this one given the nature of the World of Remnant. Doubt, people are allowed to grieve for long.

So the final act in this play begins, eh? I'm getting some weird Animatrix Human-Machince War vibes. Earnestly, depending how fast Shockwave wants to take this battle, it could very well void out a kingdom or two.

Also, oh Amber, your really becoming tree resin at this point. I have no idea how her one-sided relationship will go through. Other than she becomes a Queen for The Predacons. That could work if you just let it slip by Shockwave's organic side. It wouldn't interfere if done right.

If I were to compare, Shockwave and Amber are a parellel to Castlevania's Dracula and Lisa. Only, Shockwave doesn't have any humanity to begin with and is a full-on monster even by his species standards. Still, the control he has does fulfill a sense of attachment to the woman he's come across.
