To me, Darth Sidious loved his Death Star so much that he couldn't believe that anyone else wanted to destroy what Vader called a "technological terror". Vader believed the ultimate power was the force, and he was right his son destroyed it using the force to guide the two proton torpedoes in the thermal exhaust to hit the main reactor.

This was a very emotionally satisfying story. you always wonder what if you know? It is one of those stories where you can actually believe that these events might have happened if people hadn't been so stupid and the story wasn't already set in stone since the '70s. Other than that, great story and I hope you never stop writing!

If we go by the theory that Palpatine could, over time, create a fatal lapse in someone's life processes (a corruption of Darth Plagueis' life retention technique), Padme's having a brain bleed is all too plausible... and likely matched by the timing of the death of Anakin's mother.

The T-16’s and the T-47’s of the Battle of Horh are the airplane analogues and the reason Luke was familiar enough with the controls for the T-65B X-Wing, the spacecraft made by the same manufacturer. Ain’t lore great?
